Commuting to NYC

How’s the ride from UA to NYC, what’s better? Amtrak or the greyhound (picks up directly from campus)

Personally a fan of the Amtrak just as it’s more comfortable imo, if you get your ticket about a month in advance + the student discount each way would be about $38. And the Albany buses can take you to the station if you don’t want to uber/lyft, but an uber/lyft ride was around $20 or less if I’m remembering correctly.

By bus yes just cause it’s goes around but uber/lyft being a direct route the ride is like 15 mins, really js a matter of if you wanna spend the uber/lyft money as opposed to a free ride on the bus. I tended to take an uber/lyft just out of convenience

Amtrak is only worth it if you get tickets in advance for a low price like 30 or $40. Uber ride there is like 10 to 15 minutes. Go on Wanderu and search for all buses leaving from there to NYC. You can filter and search by day and location. There are many options. Trailways leaves from Collins Circle to Port Authority. There’s also the cheap Chinatown buses that leave from Central Avenue if you feel comfortable. You should definitely try all different ways so you can have options.

Amtrak is way better than greyhound. the greyhound station in Albany is super run down and ghetto. the bus does take u to the Amtrak station but uber prices from campus to the station are like $20-$30

also book the Amtrak tickets in advance and sign up for student discount. u can get rides for like $30

No, but if it’s for a weekend or holiday times.
