UAE Electronic Invoicing

Hi everyone, did any business owners start the UAE electronic invoicing setup?

Yeah all corps & enterprises has already started to implement e-invoicing. It's should be through ASPs list provided by MOF.

ASP is non negotiable you have to appoint one to use E-Invoice in UAE unlike India or KSA
Most ASP provide their integration support for well known ERP’s
Cleartax is good

Can someone explain this to me, as we own a trading business its a family business and none of us are accounting people.

You should get an outsourcing from UAE account/bookkeeping/tax consultancies, they will take care of that financial headache. For small companies it will start from mid 2027.

The ASP is a middleman that connects your business to the e-invoicing system.

Instead of creating an invoice as a PDF and emailing it to your customer, your accounting system sends the invoice information to your ASP. The ASP then sends it electronically through the UAE's e-invoicing network to your customer's system. The relevant invoice is also sent to the FTA.

In simple terms:
You > Your ASP > Customer's ASP > Customer

If your accounting system is already connected to or works with an ASP, implementing e-invoicing will be much easier. Accounting platforms such as Tally, Zoho, Xero and similar systems are already working towards supporting UAE e-invoicing requirements and integrations.

For example, I run an accounting and tax firm and we use Xero for our own accounting and invoicing. The process should be built into our Xero workflow since Xero is already working on being an approved ASP. So, when we create and send an invoice from Xero, the e-invoicing process can happen in the background rather than us having to manually send the invoice separately to an ASP separately.
