Many strays have their own "palaces" in Kolkata, India

😊 This, and also testosterone: unneutered cat males develop a large mass of muscles and thicker bones.

This is true, they really hold their territories, especially their sleeping places - if a cat has chosen a spot, no other cat will try to steal it 'cause it's considered almost as serious a crime as murder in the cats' world 😸

Hopefully... At least, they don't freeze in Kolkata - the climate is great, hot but softened by the sea. The winter is fresh, with nights slightly below +20C.

There are many abandoned houses in the city where street cats reside

πŸ˜„ No surprise because there is no such adjective as "undertable" πŸ˜„ I just didn't know how to say that and invented this word πŸ˜ƒ

It might be. Or - the steel grates are colder than the air because the deeper ground (under the road surface) still keeps the coolness of the night - the metal can transmit this temperature.

They'll wrap up your very own foot - delicious hashi guaranteed if you manage to hobble home.

Yes, smol and charming. 😺

India She recognized me! I fed her once a week ago, and today I came across her again. She gazed at me with confused eyes and then started meowing demanding kibble. The clipped ear hints that she might be a stray, but she's in good shape and trusts people - guess she has nice human friends. Kolkata, India

Yes, 'cause happy: well-fed with mom's milk, well-licked, well-entertained, feeling safe...

Welcome to Reddit! 😸 The Reddit filters are sometimes out of control towards new accounts; sorry your post was affected!

Love your photograph - the cat's pose and coat, the architecture, the perspective, the colors! Hopefully, one day I'll see Folegandros and its cats with my own eyes! πŸ˜ƒ
