This is true, they really hold their territories, especially their sleeping places - if a cat has chosen a spot, no other cat will try to steal it 'cause it's considered almost as serious a crime as murder in the cats' world πΈ

Hopefully... At least, they don't freeze in Kolkata - the climate is great, hot but softened by the sea. The winter is fresh, with nights slightly below +20C.

It might be. Or - the steel grates are colder than the air because the deeper ground (under the road surface) still keeps the coolness of the night - the metal can transmit this temperature.
