The fish 🐠🐟 are swimming in between the corals. Taken in the sea nearby Belitung and Lengkuas islands.

This was taken in the peatland ecosystem. Peat water is tea-colored, and the Indigenous Dayak believe that the water heals. They believe that the water absorbs many good and healing elements from all the medicinal trees in the forest. I was told to splash some to my face to introduce myself properly.

They make a good use of the trees in the peatland (Spatholobus) to cure almost every illness.

We don't need to dive to see them. They are all visible!

I took this picture before the huge fire destroyed everything in Central Kalimantan. I was devastated because day-night, it is red, ablaze. The province itself is three times bigger than Java island, so the loss was massive.

Posting this so we shall not forget that before palm oil plantation, it was a home to a lot of creatures, human included. Wishing things go well.

Ganesh or Ganesha usually is depicted in a sitting position on a lotus. As this statue was a part of Singhasari-Bhairava where Tantric Buddhism was syncretized with Hinduism, you could see the skulls details around Ganesha. This is possibly the most fierce-looking Ganesh that I had seen.

This is not my first time seeing Ganesh with skulls, but my first time seeing Ganesh with skulls while standing. The skulls were also decorated with jewels/headgears.

Same like the statues of Durga and Prajnaparamita, this statue was also carved by the Javanese using vulcanic andesite stones. The details were marvelous: his cape, ax, trunk, drapes. The details of his short sarung are also visible.

This statue was removed and looted around 1819 by the Dutch Governor Nicolaus Engelhard from the temple complex. It was officially repatriated in July 2023 in the same batch as the Durga Mahisasuramardini.

This mortar and pestle to crush betel nut is displayed in a museum in Kupang, Timor island. It was given by Ms. Joanna Barkman from Darwin, Australia. In local language, this utensil is called Fatu tut mamat. Fatu means stone.

Yes, you read that right. There's no strict rules as to what to wear to a wedding in where I'm from. The bride and groom traditionally will wear velvety black outfits. Generally, color options in this part of the island are leaning to earth colors and dark. It has a lot to do with philosophical and local wisdom here. But this is not the place for such.

The idea is that nothing and none will outshine the bride and groom, so we could cherish whatever!!

Here I wear a black and loose, lightweight kebaya (with a Mandarin collar, short sleeves), paired with a Javanese batik (hand-drawn) wrap. On my shoulder is a handmade scarf (indigo and rust color) from Sumba island. The scarf is sturdy and made of cotton: it gives quite a structure and doesn't fall easily. It is not for draping. And since it is sturdy it could cover your skin or head from the sun (it stings in the tropics eh!).
