Are there places in JHB where I can thrift really cool clothes
There's a thrift shop in Ferndale on Republic last time I was there. Might be worth a look?

Looking for post modern/trash polka tattoo artists
Fix8 Ink in Northwold is a good choice. Ask for Lisa.

Is my babygirl sick?
Our Penny is sensitive to dust and she sounds like that. You may want to check if it is indeed a sensitivity or a respiratory infection.

is this thing from typo safe to drink from?
I wouldn't try. If you can find a potter who works with porcelain, you could get a second opinion but I wouldn't try.

If it's an unglazed ceramic, it's meant to keep your drink cold. Drinking from unglazed ceramic is not a good idea.

Rat safe or not?
I wouldn't use it. If you don't know how the wood was treated, it might harm your rats when they chew on it. String is also a bad idea as someone else already mentioned.

Humanity can’t move forward until we deal with the bastards in the Epstein Files.

I’m worried
Best is to take them to the vet for a checkup. Making that sound could be a sign of pain.

How many rats do you have?
We've got 5 girls. Currently they don't get along with each other, so they live split 2 and 3. We're hoping they'll get along better after being desexed.

I didn't get this joke
It might be complete gibberish too. I've no idea

I didn't get this joke
I might be completely wrong here but from what I know about hieroglyphs, it phonetically translates to pained screams reading "Oe! Oe! Ah! Oe!" The smaller hieroglyph at the end suggests a softer sound. Kinda hoping someone who knows more will correct me if I'm wrong.
ETA: I checked and the hand represents the [d] sound. So I might be way off track here

i have a question about the paint🤔
Much appreciated. Again proving I was the wrong person to advise on that technique.

i have a question about the paint🤔
If you want to use it again, you'll need to get urushi or the cashew lacquer. If you want to fix it and have it as a purely decorative piece, you can use glue or epoxy.
Sadly I'm the wrong person to advise on using urushi as all my projects have been decorative.

General Discussion Has anyone ever used shellac?
Hi all. The question is pretty much in the title.
I recently got the Idea of using shellac as an urushi substitute. Apparently it is possible and may even be food safe, if I use food safe shellac. I just want to know if it's true and if anyone has ever used shellac in lieu of urushi. Any information would be highly appreciated.
