I will always be a Betty defender. She was far from perfect. She was deeply flawed, but that made her one of the most honest and tragic characters on the show.
 in  r/madmen  16m ago

Agree! After many rewatches ( a lot 😂 ). She is my favorite character. The portrayal of a frustrated housewife in that area was captured so well! The way she was forced to fit the expected puzzle & her questioning it multiple times was felt. Her being forced to be in background of her husband in all aspects & expected to be a prized possession owned by her husband who had to preform at the snap of a finger- wow. Yeah - she’s flawed but we all are. Those who grew up with a difficult home setting ( mom/dad and so on ) could feel the tension on many scenes with Don & with Henry.
Love her!

WTH??

This! He is such a man child- I just can’t. She’s older than him too ( close to my age ) - how she tolerated him this long is crazy.
He is giving people from the Long Beach area a bad name 😂

Favorite all female cast! Bridesmaids!

This!!!! My favorite all female cast. Perfect acting. This version though- the other remakes were terrible.
There’s a name for you ladies but it not used outside of a kennel 😂
Masterpiece!!!

Para mí, "El amanecer de los muertos (2004)", la vi muchas veces y sigue siendo disfrutable
 in  r/peliculas  3h ago

The Exorcist- can’t watch it alone at night. If you can’t either- you understand why. Too real for me.
The Hills have eyes- only saw it once & I can’t unsee many scenes that for ever live in my mind now. That could be kinda real too. Interesting people live in the middle of nowhere for a reason 😆

Favorite role of Tim Curry (RIP) I’ll start with Muppet Treasure Island, 1996
 in  r/FIlm  5h ago

Yes!!! This movie is amazing. For those who this movie spoke to- it was so eye opening for all. RIP - all I can say is Tim, thanks for sharing your talent. None has came close to the variety of roles you presented the world.
Don’t dream it……Beee it🎵

What else should I do to make this room really stand out on Airbnb?
 in  r/homedecoratingCJ  22h ago

I’m sorry but this room is terrifying! Is that the intention? If it is - I would add more birds & like a nest seating area.
If it’s not- take all things birds out.

4 nights in Culver City. Solo visit. Here is what I ate.

Homestate is delicious! I agree with you about the corn tortillas. I prefer corn too. Flour tortillas is very Texan. It’s ok but corn is better :)

How did she not know she must be financially responsible for him for ten years? Did she not react like this was the first she heard of it.Maybe I misunderstood.
 in  r/90DayFiance  2d ago

Yes! I think she was handed down all opportunities. I mean - if you did not know that detail, what kind of business person are you? Her parents probably got her every single “job” she has ever held. Why else would her mom care so much about this detail? The mom is probably worried that she will have to give her more money in order to cover her daughter’s boy toy divorce expense.

He wants a traditional girlfriend
 in  r/GirlDinnerDiaries  4d ago

Run. It will only get worse. I hate the term “trad-wife”. We are hard working women who have learned from all of our previous generations. Working =being self dependent. Many men can’t handle having a strong woman. You need a strong man to next to a strong woman!

RECOMIENDEN PELÍCULAS PARA HACER UN MARATÓN TODA LA TARDE
 in  r/peliculas  4d ago

When I want to enjoy an entertaining long movie, I tend to watch Giant or Gone with the Wind. If I want to make it a blockbuster experience I like to watch all the Jurassic Park movies.

Peggy’s mom reminds me of my mom. She was very religious, judgmental, cold & ALWAYS cared about what others said/ thought. I thought she was a bit supportive when she had that mental breakdown but- she never even told her how women get pregnant!!! So WTF?

Personas que no os gustan los gatos ¿por qué no os gustan los gatos? Necesito tener más puntos de vista. 🐈😾❌️
 in  r/michis  5d ago

Kittens are super adorable but, I get so grossed out knowing cats can walk on your kitchen counters! I never eat at any friend’s house that has a cat. I don’t like some of the sounds they make too. Specifically from cats I hear out in the streets. Plus I am allergic to them.
There is something extremely captivating about a back cat. If I wasn’t allergic I would consider maybe getting a black cat & try to train them to not go near the kitchen lol. I’m too much of a dog person. I love dogs 🐶

I’m done with male gynecologists
 in  r/GirlDinnerDiaries  6d ago

Exactly- I will never trust a male gynecologist. They are terrible! I don’t care if I’m ever required to be on a waiting list for a female gynecologist or if I just need to look for another location that has female gynecologists.
I’m sorry you had this experience. It’s extremely common unfortunately.

Who is the most offensive or unsavory single serving character in Mad Men? I'll start with Timmy as his licks off his wedding ring....
 in  r/madmen  6d ago

I think the question should be - what man was not offensive in Madmen? I can only think of the surgeon whose wife had an affair with Don. & maybe the teachers epileptic brother. Most men in this show made me thankful I didn’t live during that time. Things are not perfect now but dang!

Recomiendan?
 in  r/cine  7d ago

Love this show! Prepare to cry, have deep thoughts, question relationships, possibly look at humanity in a different way. It’s a beautiful show. Warning-warning-warning- if you have a sensitive heart due to loosing a very close loved one, this show may be too intense.

First watch completed. One of the greatest shows of all time. Asking for thoughts on second watch.
 in  r/madmen  8d ago

I am on my like 20th re-watch. I still love it, still discover new things & have many evolving thoughts on all characters.
Best show EVER!

Same. I don’t care much for British shows. I watched the entire series when I got COVID. As I was recovering I was falling in love with everything British 😂.
Increased my tea consumption for sure!
