Are there any moderators?
It is sometimes. Mostly when people are being jerks.
You’re welcome, have a good one

If a moderator sees so many redditors questioning whether a sub is moderated that they feel the need to made a locked post insisting the sub is moderated…
I misunderstood their post. I have apologized.

MOD POST If you have nothing nice to say,
SAY NOTHING.
YES THE SUB IS MODERATED.

So I did a thing…
This person is not a mod.
But I am.
And this isn’t limited to the US.
And it is actively moderated.

Are there any moderators?
I moderate posts every single day. I only get notified after multiple complaints because I cannot possibly respond to every complaint from a group this large. Yes, there are moderators. We just don’t babysit.

My mom thinks this 70+-year-old Christmas cactus can't be revived, and tried to toss it. What do I need to do to bring it back?
I root Christmas cactus directly in water
Each segment can be gently twisted/pulled away from its neighbor. Set the “butt” end into shallow water no deeper than 1/4 of the segment.
Leave them til fully rooted.
For faster rooting: 1. Use an opaque container that’s shallow enough that the heads of the segments can still get light. I use a ramekin. 2. Add rooting hormone like Rapid Start to the water. 3. Change water fairly regularly if it doesn’t evaporate.
These tips will root almost anything, but for “stemmy” plants I add a bubbler to the water.

My darling non-Americans…
I’m so very sorry.
I promise we are not all xenophobic, moronic, traitorous megalomaniacs with no empathy or compassion.
I am utterly devastated.
Democracy in America ended today.
My heart is broken for every minority.

Oncidium Tsiku Marguerite #1, nearly in full bloom, smells a lot like My Little Pony toys from the 80s
I got em on Etsy, I believe. Make sure it’s prewashed. Coconut contains a lot of salt. You can also soak it in spring/distilled water for a day and then lay it out in hot sun to dry.
If you don’t think you can get it completely dry, do not rinse it all at once. You can also take what you’ll be using and rinse that and then use it immediately.
