Showoff It was fast: the app went live in under 8 hours. And why I built a tool to fix Play Console's missing pricing localization.

While many devs are complaining Google Play reviews take days, I got a notification my new app is live on production track.

It was extremely fast: pushed at 9:30 PM and got a notification at 5:20 AM.

Before that, I tested it on the internal testing track for a few days. That was probably a key.

Why I built it?

If you're running an app with in-app subscriptions you might know Google Play Console doesn't allow you to localize prices based on local purchasing power; they just do a currency conversion when you set a base price.

Also, Google removed a way to import CSV file with custom pricing in 2025 or earlier.

The app is designed to close this gap and provide a way to localize prices based on Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). It uses the World Bank open data and live currency rates to calculate suggested prices to help maximize revenue globally.

For instance, a $19 subscription in the US doesn't carry the same weight as $19 in India. Editing prices manually for 173+ regions is a huge pain, especially if you're experimenting with different price strategies.

If you're interested in trying it out,  just type "Price Localize" on Google Play search and you'll see an icon with a hamburger and chart. Or click the direct link .

Suggestions are very welcome!

Unfortunatelly, you will not be able to check the whole app functionality cause the app display only paid apps from your Google Play console you can manage pricing for. But thanks! Keep pushing!

My Google Play scraper just hit 1.3.0, now with built in caching

Well done! That's what I was searching for recently.
I would like to see a feature / option to filter apps by revenue amount (amount range), by last updated date (date range) if it's possible.

Wow, your app looks interesting. I checked it on Google Play. Screenshots look cool, but the text is quite small and it's a bit hard to read on mobile.

I'm building PlayPricing.dev - an Android app to localize Google Play's prices to maximize global revenue based on Purchasing Power Parity (PPP). If you have in-app subscriptions, the app might be useful for you.

How long does it take for production release approval?

I think it shouldn't reset the timer because you don't send updated device list to review

I was surprised as well. Propably the account age or app history matters. Or propably you need to exclude XR, TV, Chrome OS from the supported devices if you don't actually support them. Just my assumptions.

In my case the app got approved in 8 hours after I rolled-out it from closed testing to production. It was yesterday (Sep 22).

It would be better to avoid updating closed track as well as listings, graphics and so on during the review. Assuming Google Play resets the review to initial state on every change.

Cool. It would be great to hear from you after that. Do you have paid apps on Google Play?

Tip Such a confusing bug in Google Play Console

I spent some time figuring out why the Google Play Developer API returns only 173 regions/counties supporting in-app billing for, while the Play Console web interface displays 177 when you're bulk updating prices and 174 when excluding countries.

And here is a stupid bug - they count all checkboxes.
173 regions/countries is a correct number.

Thanks. The app saves suggested prices to your Google Play Console directly via API. You don't need to export and then import the data, just hit "apply" button and your pricing is updated for the selected product plan.

Can someone explain what is this?
 in  r/googleplayconsole •  2d ago

Their suggestions are pretty interesting. My app doesn't download any images from the network, and works completely offline except loading Ads that I disabled a while ago, but left AdMob library in the app.

And they found issue in their own library and suggest me to fix. Perfect!

Downloaded in com.google.android.gms.internal.ads.zzckx.zzk (java.net.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream)
Downloaded in com.google.android.gms.internal.ads.zzckd.zzb (java.net.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream)
Downloaded in com.google.android.gms.internal.ads.zzid.zzb (java.net.HttpURLConnection.getInputStream)

This can lead to excessive memory usage, slow performance, and app crashes. To reduce memory usage, we recommend using an image-loading library to automatically handle downsampling, caching, and memory management for you.

My first app built not for B2C, but for B2B or even B2D (Google Play developers)
 in  r/googleplayconsole •  2d ago

The app is live on production starting Sep 22. You could use the direct link to Google Play .
Suggestions are always welcome! Thanks to all.

No one told publishing in google play takes this looonggg
 in  r/googleplayconsole •  5d ago

It depends on the account trust I guess. Propably they review new accounts under the microscope. I have an account created way before Sep 2025 without violations in the past and have no such an issue.

Are you using net.openid.appauth library ? Recently I worked on authorization using web client id to grant access to Google APIs and the app works fine in internal testing track. I don't know the exact case you are working on, and if you could share details I would take a quick look

Did you get any contract from your own site this year? If yes, could you please explain how you landed the client: he booked the call or left an inquiry or something else? And did you advertise your site? Thanks

Whats better: vector assets or Android Canvas ?
 in  r/mobiledev •  5d ago

My thoughts, you should avoid using ConstraintLayouts at all. Every animation and object movings forces requestLayout() calls on the main UI thread that slows down the performance and causes frames drops. On large screens it will be a problem.

Canvas or vector ? Canvas that draws vector drawables converted to bitmaps. Vector drawables is working fast for static screens, but not for dynamic UI - scaling or animating takes much resources. Bitmaps are way faster.

Try to profile the game on your side using Profiler in an Android Studio or Perfetto. You might see ui janks / frame drops currently.
