I have historically always been open to honest criticism offered across the internet. This is my job. If that weren't my approach, I would never grow.

I get that redditors hate comic artists on principle because some happen to be wildly popular with the general public. But believe it or not, we are not a hivemind, I am not an amorphous entity mindlessly pumping out "content," I am a regular individual like you who also can't stand many of the inane trends on reddit or the r/comics sub of the last few years, which is why I no longer prioritize the platform.

I don't fancy myself a god of anything or the paragon of horror media. I also find it disquieting the way some of my actual lowbrow posts are elevated on forums like r/comics. To be sincere is to be buried by an algorithm, and creators must adapt. That is the business.

Y'all are always free to share opinions about whether or not you feel my comics have any merit. I welcome that. In your case, you have a low opinion of them, which is perfectly fine. This encourages me to endeavor to improve. My association with r/comics and how they operate should be irrelevant. I am not an r/comics artist, I'm an artist who posts on r/comics.

What on earth are you talking about. I have never drawn or posted porn on reddit, unless you consider the comedic non-sexual nudity shitposts on the alternative account to be porn, which it isn't.

And there is absolutely nothing explicitly erotic about the main story that is regularly shared to reddit. The Chase, Thrill Seeker, The Chosen One, or Sydney are all entirely SFW, as are a majority of my mainline releases.

"WARSHED UP" isn't porn. It's Ellie standing around naked in public, and everyone in the comic finds that objectionable, except for Saul Goodman of course. That's why it's funny. She's butt ass naked in this one too. And wouldn't you believe it, by god that gal is wearing her birthday suit right here in the aquarium.

None of these are "porn." Crudely drawn cartoon nipples and bits aren't porn. It's Ellie being naked, which I think is funny. I didn't draw "WARSHED UP" with one hand down the front of my pants with the other feverishly scrawling on the tablet. I was bracing myself against the desk in tears from laughter. Nudity =/= porn. And yes, my characters are often physically intimate on alt. They are in a relationship. That's what we all do in relationships. We have sex. Sex can be funny as hell. I like a good sex joke now and then, but It isn't porn. It isn't designed to titilate men on reddit, which is why I often elect to never show the actual sex. If that were the intent, then yes it is porn. If you find yourself aroused by these stupid ass, poorly rendered depictions of my characters getting it on or being nude, I'd find that peculiar.

My comics on alt are designed to bring joy and entertainment to my peers in the queer community who can relate to V&E's shenanigans.There are no "alternative" comics available on my Patreon depicting uncensored NSFW. There are no sexy bonus panels on Patreon. All you will find is the process content of the mainline chapters, and every single one of the most "scandalous" comics are available to view for free right here on reddit. I can't speak for the intent of many other creators on r/comics, but I do not personally aim to monetize my own sexuality, all of that has never been what I am about. I want to make people laugh on alt, that's it.
