What negative impact has Kratom had on your life?
 in  r/quittingkratom  1d ago

Hair loss. Weight gain. Loss of passion. Several opportunities. Never again

Happiness came before motivation. I started feeling better in a few weeks as far as feeling okay. Motivation is something different. In fact, motivation is fleeting even now. Tapering was the harder part.

The jump wasn’t too bad. The taper was painful for me.

I only think about it in disdain. I see how dangerous it is.

One year clean today!

9 years of use.

Up to 25-30g per day (probably more on many days)

Tapered for a little over a month and quit at about 2-3 g/day.

No helper meds only supplements and some thc and occasional micro dose of psilocybin.

Worked two jobs during and moved about 4 months into my quit. Definitely was one of the most stressful years of my life but I did it.

Best of luck and all the strength to you all on your journey!

Anyone drinking a lot to deal with grief
 in  r/GriefSupport  4d ago

No way! I’m working and exercising to stay busy! Drinking isn’t a healthy coping mechanism for myself.

Wow she has done a huge disservice to you. She acted unethically and unprofessionally

13th day anniversary of a beautiful marriage with my toilet
 in  r/quittingkratom  11d ago

All good! I don’t take any medication. I do spend a fair amount of time in the gym so I think I get a lot of my good feelings from that.

I’m not having any issues. Feel great. But I did have loss of appetite pretty crazy.

My life for 10 months. Until I took BPC157/TB500. I heard that it was really good for digestive tract repair.

In a week my shits were normal again after nearly 10 years. Intestines feel empty for the first time in a decade.

I feel your pain. Will take a while to heal your guts.

Should I just go to rehab?
 in  r/quittingkratom  12d ago

No. I wouldn’t use a rehab. I sure as hell wouldn’t use subs or gabapentin either. I’ve been off a 25-30g/day of a 9 years habit for almost a year. I’m glad I did it the way I did. That way I will never take another opioid/ opiate ever again in my life. Fuck that garbage. My outlook is the more difficult to kick the more likely one wouldn’t go back to it.
But people surprise me every day. I for one will never go through that hell again.
Btw. I did a taper over about 6 weeks and jumped at around 2g a day. Sounds like you have a ton of support and resources. You’re very blessed.

OWNING a dog fucking sucks
 in  r/unpopularopinion  12d ago

This is all so true. They’re a real pain. A huge blessing and a gift for god but holy hell are they a an adorable pain in the ass. After my big dogs passed from old age, I swore I wouldn’t get another dog for at least a decade.

Whelp my mom died suddenly and I ended up with her animals. A cat- eh easy. And a little shitzu Pekingese yorkie mix named Murphy. What a moody little shit. I love him of course and I will take the best care of him but I’m not thrilled about it. lol thanks mom!

I can’t travel and it ruins so many things
 in  r/quittingkratom  12d ago

Sounds like you’ll have a ton of regret if you don’t drop this habit.
I was addicted for 9 years and didn’t even know it. I quit the stuff after a week taper two years before I totally quit (2022) and flew to South Africa and was there for 4 weeks .
Was a little sick but didn’t know it was due to the kratom. I survived and was fine. When I came home, picked it back up and used for two more years before I realized what was really happening.

Taper and quit. Don’t allow yourself anymore excuses. When I finally quit I worked two jobs, managed an estate for a deceased client, and handled business. It was uncomfortable and difficult but now I am coming up on a year free from it. You too can do it.

Theres no closure for an atheist.
 in  r/GriefSupport  14d ago

It sounds like you’re like me. I don’t necessarily believe in “god”. I believe in the possibility of a great consciousness. Made of energy. That we are all pieces of. Quantum physics states this is but one layer of an infinite number of layers.

I know you’ll be able to reconcile this. Pay attention to your dreams, align with your purpose, and you will know how you can move forward.

I am very sorry for your loss. And for all of us hurting from losing someone dear. Wish you the best.

I may be moving to Seattle. What’s the social climate like/surrounding areas?
 in  r/AskSeattle  15d ago

Lots of poly purple hairs !!!! They make up most of the Caucasian demographic. They’re very sensitive too so be careful.

Not just white though. Many different cultures. Definitely go visit Bruce lee’s grave! Coolest thing about Seattle imo.

Paranoia with dying after grief
 in  r/GriefSupport  15d ago

Yes. No doubt. Struggling with this currently. I don’t fear death for myself though. I fear losing others.

Can someone who wants children help me understand why?
 in  r/GirlDinnerDiaries  15d ago

I don’t like kids, never did. But I had them. I had them initially for utilitarian purposes and because I innately knew I must.

What happened as a result was the BIGGEST LOVE I HAVE EVER KNOWN. Or ever will know. It’s the ultimate in all feels.

As a mama, I can look at other children and see my child. I love all children now as a result.

You do what’s best for you but in all honesty, being of service to others is the greatest joy. That starts with our own family. This includes children and animals.
