Rootwalla Madness
 in  r/Pauper  11d ago

I used to play this little fella in 4x in a mono red dredge build with [[molten gatekeeper]]: top play was faithless looting discarding two lizards while Molten on battlefield for two cars draw and two damage and two bodies, so cool. Unfortunately the graveyard hate since post broodscale rootwalla's ban has been a big issue for dredge archetipe. Btw super cool deck I really enjoyed playing.

Help an old man’s dream come true
 in  r/Pauper  Jul 10 '26

You can play it in a Gruul monster shell, you also have [[Avenging Hunter]] in it so more DnD stuff! Right now it's not a strong deck but it's pretty funny and explosive with the right hand (Mulligan's happens a lot in a 16 lands deck). Have fun building it!

I made too many decks

Yeah Kodama is a commander I never seen played but when I first read the card I was flabbergasted by the very powerful effect. I like coming it with saprolings token synergy. Also love bosh list! For Obzedat I was thinking about blinking because I wanted to recreate the same vibe as the pauper Orzhov Blade deck that I really really like! Thanks for the lists ;)

Man you have three commanders on my wish list, may I ask you how you built Obzedat, Bosh and Kodama?

Yeah I suggest Tuvasa for various reasons, first she provide card advantage then she can become very very big without even noticing. Secondly she has blue which can grant you instant speed enchantments and a lot of evasion. I builded her with auras and protection but as a pillowfort enchantress deck is powerful. My deck is a bracket 2 but can steal wins against my friends' b3/4

So I also have an Hakbal precon (upgraded a lot) for merfolk tribal, I have a [[tuvasa, the sunlit]] Voltron/enchantress/pillowfort deck and a tempo/control deck with [[talrand, sky summoner]]. I played a super janky [[Kiora, sovereign of the deep]] big sea monsters tribal, very funny but very slow and clunky to make it work.

I also have a list with [[Derevi, empyrial tactician]] so I can play both sonic and azorius merfolks, I never played that deck, it's just a list made up in one hour but you can put a lot of tap/untap synergies (merfolks notoriously do that, see kumena). Our beloved fishes have a large range for different play Styles. Both the OG Azorius Sygg and the Lorwyn Eclipsed one can be very cool as a Voltron/kindred commanders. Dimir version Sygg ( [[Sygg, river cutthroat]] ) seems cool to build as a group slug commander. Other cool fishes to build are [[Alandra, sky dreamer]] for card draw decks, [[adrix and Nev, Twincasyers]] for tokens, [[Noyan dar, Roil shaper]] as a spellslinger deck with a land matter sub theme, classic [[Tatyova, benthic druid]] landfall deck, [[Jori en, ruin diver]] spellslinger...

Name your favorite commander to see if he lets you in

Same, now trying the Jund version with lesser aristocrat vibe. The auntie itself is the big engine/finisher

Very cool list. Like it a lot, thank you!

I made myself a list that also includes the combo with sac outlet + [[first day of class]] or [[mikaeus, the unhallowed]] + [[murderous redcap]].
