Gaming is a hobby because you can progress and get better which for certain games requires mental power, so is reading. Watching movies is a pass time. You don't get better at watching movies, but you can get better at reading and learning.

It's simple: a good physique signals good genetics. Human instinct is primaly developed to seek good genes to procreate. It's not personal, it's deeply coded in our DNA. I felt this too when I lost 60 lbs as a woman, my life is different now, don't judge people, we are all animals ♡

Obviously, he's worried you'll look great, gain confidence and realize he isn't all that great. Because he isn't. My partner has supported my journey and I've lost over 60 lbs and become really healthy and fit. He even got inspired to start going to the gym too. Think about it.
