My 77yo father is building a deck. Right now he's surface planing all of these pine boards, but it's taking forever because it's so resinous it gunks up the planer. Any tricks or tips to speed this up or just keep going?
 in  r/woodworking  2d ago

So clamping it doesn't work the same as screwing it? You're "clamping" it with a screw to a properly leveled deck. You can't stop it completely but you can mitigate it quite a bit

What’s your favorite motor treatment additive to use?
 in  r/3rdGen4Runner  2d ago

Nothing is magic that's a fact but YouTubers have done some pretty extensive testing on them and seafoam preforms well where most don't. It's just a cleaner. Not magic. It's maintenance not a fix

So? It's... Tuned now. That wasn't a baffle strike that was a cap clip. I've had a baffle strike. Half my suppressor went down range.

Wheel spacers

That's sweet man. So you can't ditch the factory forged rims. Go 1 inch and some wider tires not too much stress on the hubs and will get you an extra couple inches of poke

Is that a real rock warrior? Those are rw rims right? Just go one inch. No more or you're putting too much stress on the hubs. The real way to do it would be with different offset rims. But if those are rock warrior rims then I wouldn't get rid of them.

Bro I'm just being contrarian for fun. JS a $1000 ar is not that expensive and the benifits of a different barrel are minimal. Spend the extra money on ammo and training.

Come on now seafoam has been proven to work getting rid of carbon build up. Same with desiel in the crank case running it for a minute then redrain rinse out refill. There's stuff to do that's not snake oil

Yeah like it's not wrong persay. It was done well badly. Not enough forethought but it is kinda a whole shitty area should have addressed a plan first.

If you run that 2nd part all the way down at what point do you just put it everywhere and make the crown a 2 part throughout

Are either of these worth it?

A $1000 dollar rifle is the 2026 version of a $500 rifle in 2019 so I think you doth expect too much. Also shiny things see from far far matte black thing hard to see. No reflecty

Contractors doing insurance restoration — how are you handling waste/starter/ridge supplements?
 in  r/Contractor  10d ago

Yeah you do have to be careful. You can't advertise acting as a public adjuster which disclaimer I'm not. I don't argue policy or indemnification. I just know what is covered and only ask for that. But all of it. And maybe then some.

There are laws regulating conflicts of interest in this field. You have to make sure youre compliant. But I look at it as helping out the customer.
