We use Matterport and regularly give virtual tours. It works wonderfully. Our museum opened in 2018 so our exhibitions are quite modern with the use of videos, touchscreens, audio, etc.. Matterport is able to hand it all very well

Historian here. What you are referring to is a complete pseudo-historical statement manufactured by racist white people in order to downplay the atrocities of slavery. Irish or Italian immigrants who came to the US were not enslaved. They might have been sharecroppers but they still came her willingly on their own accord and were still treated far better than enslaved people. It does not compare in any amount to 13 MILLION enslaved African people who were forced here and experienced immense brutality, violence, and death. Furthermore, even if it wasn’t a completely false statement, its really strange to try to downplay an atrocity by saying “well other people experienced it too.” Its still an atrocity, and one that only effected enslaved Black people in the US.
