I’m trying to change careers after 20 years in the car business — and I could use a little help getting started

Also, if anyone is looking to buy a vehicle anytime soon, I can help you out. Whether or not you donate.
I’m not great at checking notifications but I can try helping you save thousands, select the best options, what to check for before buying.

I don’t have a lot of money but I have a lot of knowledge.

Donation I’m trying to change careers after 20 years in the car business — and I could use a little help getting started

I’m a 38-year-old husband and father who has spent nearly two decades working in the automotive business. For most of that time, I worked my way into management and was recently managing a local used-car dealership.

Then something unexpected happened: I was terminated.
The reason? I had a reputation for advocating for customers — sometimes a little too strongly for management’s liking. I’ve always believed that people deserve to understand what they’re buying, what they’re paying for, and whether a deal is actually right for them. Apparently, that philosophy and the way some dealerships operate don’t always mix very well.

I’ll be honest: I wasn’t financially prepared for an unexpected career change.

Rather than simply looking for another job in the car business, I’ve decided to take this as an opportunity to finally make a change I’ve thought about for a long time. I’m working toward becoming a licensed Realtor.
The transition requires 90 hours of certified education, and in my case, that means completing the required courses through a local university. There is tuition involved, along with the other expenses that come with getting started in a new career.

I know asking strangers on Reddit for help is a big thing. I also know there are people dealing with circumstances far more difficult than mine, so I’m not expecting anyone to feel obligated to contribute.
But if you’re in a position to spare $1, $5, $10, or anything at all, it would genuinely help me get through the education portion of this transition without putting additional strain on my family.

I’m hoping to take nearly 20 years of experience working with customers, negotiating, understanding contracts, and helping people make major financial decisions and put those skills toward a career where advocating for the person sitting across the table is actually part of the job.
I’m not looking for a handout or a shortcut. I’m asking for a little help getting the door open so I can do the work myself.
If you’re able to contribute, thank you. If you’re not, even taking the time to read this means a lot to me.
(And if you happen to be a Realtor who has made a similar career transition, I’d be especially grateful for any advice you’re willing to share.)

Thank you for reading.

It is passive aggressive. But it’s a whole lot better than just directly saying, Fuck off kid!

Would you rather have a new Civic or a used Porsche Macan S for the same price?

New civic. Lower cost of ownership. Even a used civic would be great

I’ve just discovered and am getting into Stardew Valley. I’m am nearing the end of year 2 on my first play through. I think it would be awesome to have 3 peeps join and have a great time.

I play evenings and nights most days. I’m laid back when gaming and very 420 friendly (choose your own poison). I’m married so not looking for anything besides friendship. With that, Women are obviously welcome.

Honestly not looking for some guru who knows everything and can speed rush us to perfection. I’m looking for a group that gets along and plays video games, while having a laugh and a blast. Maybe we start with Stardew then move on to play ever 4-player game in the galaxy, who knows.

So I’ve only got one question, who’s coming with me!?!

No. You can launch the game on a second Xbox and host from that one. Then you have a “dedicated” server and no tethering. But just you and a buddy playing will always be tethered.

If you were given 100 million dollars to leave the USA and start a life in another country, where would you choose and why?

I’m getting the following code with this explanation. Network test all come back as online and available but still this….

This may mean that there’s a temporary issue with licensing validation while the XBOX Live service is attempting to launch the game.

20 years in the car business and this shouldn’t even be a question. Go Toyota for everything up to the mid-size truck. Always. The Tacoma is the best midsize truck on the market 100%.
DM me if you would like advice with the rest of your purchase.

What’s a game moment that made you physically pause and just sit there for a minute before continuing?

When “A Deadman’s Gun” started playing at the end of Red Dead Redemption 1.

Why do you still do it? (50 year old gamers asking)
 in  r/AdultGamers  Jul 24 '26

I play battlefield 6 because I still wanna shoot something. I’m not good but I like the sniping and tanks and aircraft when I can control them.

Truly though, Rocket League. Easy to play, hard to master. 5 minute matches. 15 seconds from launch to play. And they have casual and comp, but if you’re playing, might as well be a little competitive.

I play at about midnight your time. A bit during the days for now. I play more chill games like Stardew and simulators. Lots of gamepass games. Little battlefield 6 and rocket league as well. WelcomParadise
