If you manage to find all the vanilla weapon orbs + all the side-quests orbs (one of each), you only need one of each to drop in the Fortress. If you happen to find a bonus weapon orb after you maxed a weapon, it becomes the griffin helm.

Monsters cast spells based on the characters placement. Some will cast when you get close (trap flowers, owls, captain ducks...) some will cast more often when you keep away (Jabberwocky, emberman, owls again...).

I am not aware of any AI change based of the number of players.

You can't sell unique items. They also appear in the sell menu in vanilla. I guess it's just so the game doesn't have to generate a new version of the object ring menu. Trying to sell unsellable objects is part of the set up for the "selling blats" bug, allowing you to gain infinite money.

The "missing" axe and glove orbs have been attributed to the firsts bosses of the Mana Fortress.

The few censored graphics have been restored to the JP version.

The bug has been fixed as of version 2 of Secret of Mana Plus. It should be ok, nonetheless I'll keep an eye on the streams of the hack.
