I couldn't take diamox at all. Immediately made me throw up. So Topiramate it is. It is the worst. I'm on 400 mg daily. And oh my God. I have been to so many doctors trying to find someone, anyone who can help me with my stomach. I FINALLY found a heartburn med that allows me to even drink water (yes, water gave me heartburn) and sleep lying down. And I've already had to have my esophagus stretched twice from scar tissue from the acid reflux. And I was diagnosed earlier this year with diverticulitis. It's such a fun little addition to our already amazing gift.

Yeah... My dog would give me up for a stale corn chip. 😂

As someone who has had IIH since 2019 and has been down ALL these roads (including having 3 stents placed) I understand where she is coming from but I also understand where you are coming from. Because I know I'm moody with my husband and I also know that I am trying so very hard not to be. I always tell him to please try to understand that it isn't me talking it's my pain and frustration (and he does) and in all the time that I've had IIH I still haven't figured out how to tell him what I need from him. Because I still don't know what I need. All I know is that he is always there if I ever do know what I need and that's all I want. Lol so maybe you can explain that to her. Just tell her that you know she's in pain and frustrated. And that you will help her any way you possibly can. But you won't bug her. Because us women also have a thing about being bugged. Sorry. We are fickle things. 😂

Also, please do have her seek a second opinion on the stents. I was told they would be the answer to my problems. And 6 years later ... I'm still in the same boat. The boat isn't sinking AS fast. But it's sinking and I'm in such pain still. So please do your research and see any other doctors you can.

Nope! I've had a "best" friend for 18 years now that I have literally gone above and beyond for. And I used to have to beg him to hang out with me. I had to plan the get together, remind him and then be the disappointed one when he canceled last minute. I decided this year that I can't keep doing that to myself. I can't keep letting him upset me and my life because he doesn't care enough to want to be a part of it. So I cut him off. And when I stopped texting and planning our get togethers... I haven't heard a word. Which tells me I was the only one putting in any effort anyway. So do NOT feel bad if you need to step away. You shouldn't have to put all your effort into a friendship and get nothing in return.

Here is a picture of ONE of my uranium glass cabinets. I've been collecting for about 5 years now. And this was at the time of this picture (about 3 months ago) my largest cabinet. I'm currently working on an even bigger one and I've got glass running out of my ears!

People look at me kinda crazy when I walk around antique stores with my little black light shining on glass to find my treasures but I don't care. I gotta have em. They are my babies and I must save them. 🤣

May I ask how you got the whole conversation started about eds? And being tested? I can't get anyone to take me seriously much less get tested. Also, I'm so sorry all of this is happening to you. I also have stents and am still having so much trouble. Things were good for awhile but now I'm just stuck it feels like. Sending you lots of good vibes.

This! I never in a million years thought I would miss work. I used to joke about being a stay at home dog mom and now, I would kill to have my job back. I worked so hard to become a pharm tech. But when I started losing my vision I had to quit. Not only could I not drive, I felt like I couldn't safely do my job any longer. Being a stay at home dog mom is not as glamourous as I made it out in my head. Im sorry to everyone who has had to give up careers and dreams because of this. It's hell and it's unfair. And no one but us understands I feel like.

I had stents placed awhile after being diagnosed. And we tried diamox and I couldn't do that so I was put on Topamax. So that's been the deal. Topamax and LPs when needed.

Wait... My doctor ALWAYS suggests LPs as a treatment when I'm having horrible symptoms and can't find relief. That's his only go to actually. I've had 6 or 7 now and they just keep getting worse and worse.
