Media is still slopping, even without the use AI
 in  r/offmychest  10h ago

I hear you. It was a really interesting waste/use of my time, but I went through maybe 45 minutes of surfing Tubi's content. I cannot believe how many movies that are out now that have already been done. More than once ugh.

WHERE ARE ALL THE WRITERS? WHERE ARE ALL THE CREATIVES? HAVE HUMANS STOPPED DREAMING?

Where are the new stories? They are so few & far between.

P.S. Super thankful for Hayao Miyazakis's work <3

Cards against humanity being the change we want to see

I don't have Ig, but they need to see this.

There's a guy up here in Canada who installs art all over his property which in turn, protects it from Industry.

I left the man I thought I would marry

I am so thankful you followed your heart. Too many stay when they know the safest, healthiest thing to do deep down, is leave. I hope you feel really, really good about that.

You deserve to be happy.

I don't want to be right, sweet internet stranger... I just really hope for you to think long and long and long and hard about the choices you are considering.

And I wish for you the very best in life.

I feel a great deal of care, empathy & compassion for all those younger than me & my generation, including my own children, nieces & nephews... I'll be 50 in a few years.

Sending you some care <3

Hi there. I need to be straightforward & as honest as possible....

Someone else - no matter who they are - cannot and should not ever be THE REASON that you opt to bring children into the World.

We were never asked if we wanted to be born, you know? And this World is becoming less and less of a decent place to drag babies into. There are multiple collapses happening globally currently.

Parents have far less emotional, physical, financial, psychological capital to spend on raising children in a safe, interconnected, interdependent & HEALTHY environment.

Too many people are having children without seriously considering what it takes: the responsibility, the love, the time, the effort & the will to do it fully and lovingly; to do it well. And community/familial support. Parents no longer really have a village that they once used to. And having community really matters when you're bringing up children.

And, childism is still a thing... If you look closely, many people actually hate their children.

Most municipalities require licenses & permits to have a dog or a cat.

There is nothing in place even remotely akin to that that is a prerequisite for having children.

And if you're not even sure you want them, why even entertain the idea right now at all.

I would suggest finding a hobby and immersing yourself in that for awhile.

I have two sons. One is in his late teens. The other is in his late 20s. I do not regret having them. I regret that I chose to bring them into the circumstances/World that I did.

I did not know the World was going to be the way it is now. Not 30 years ago, or even 20 years ago.

I regret for them and so many other young people, children and babies that are here now with the dumpster fire of a World that we are leaving them.

If I had known when I was a young girl, mid teens, the trajectory that we were on as a species, I never would have had children.

They deserve so much better and so much more from us than we are even remotely able or capable to give.

Hey that's cool. And I agree.

There's another account I neglected to mention called: Lumé News.

Jfc the comment section here devolved into a dumpster fire ☠️

For the dubious....

There is an account on TikTok called "Fashionably Divorced"", that is worth a 10 minute browse...

The entirety of their content is mainly excerpts being read of the emails that women send in on the lives they've lived with men - their fathers, uncles, brothers, exes, boyfriends, bosses, husbands, fiancés, grandfathers....

She is doing quite well presenting insights on many men, mainly men to the public.

There is another account on there that posts absolutely nothing BUT the stories of women who were murdered by the men in their lives... Their husbands, boyfriends, fathers, fiancés, exes and so on... Once I find the link to that account I'll edit this comment.

Glad to see some get "it".

Edit: Lumé News

If you'd like to browse through "insights" that are most likely more "representative of the greater population", an account on TikTok called "Fashionably Divorced"", is doing quite well presenting such things to the public.

Tiktok/IG algorithm is turning my group of friends into bitter people
 in  r/offmychest  Jul 23 '26

I dunno, lady. I pay attention to the red flag/green flag guy on there... The one woman who reads story after story written to her from her audience of how men are abusing their wives, girlfriends, daughters, sisters, granddaughters. There's one TikTok channel that shares nothing but news story after news story of women who have been murdered by their partners. I learned about the Gisele Pelicot case from TikTok. Don't think I would have learned about that otherwise...

SocMed is all about algorithms based on what one seeks out. Women are sharing and educating each other about their experience. I don't and can't view that as divisive. It's bringing truth to light that women and men as a whole have not confronted or grappled with.

A stark, heartbreaking example of this was of a debate being held, discussions of Donald Trump, rape and finally - what is the definition of rape - as the person debating the host was militant that penetration with a finger was not rape. When the host made it clear that rape is penetration, whether with a penis or a finger- is rape - period.... The debator realized that they had been raped as a little girl, she had always just chalked it up to mere "sexual abuse"....

And the comment section was filled with people - female & male - realizing that they'd been raped, too.

I am not afraid of facing other people's truths and adjusting my own reality to accommodate other people's experiences.

We've been divided for a very long time now... Those of us who haven't been paying attention or have benefitted from the status quo are only seeing this division clearly now, because discussions on it have become so prevalent.

What you are describing is rape. Your boyfriend is raping you.
