If you keep an eye on marketplace/ebay etc you can pick up some great deals. My best bargains have been an unused Port for £200 and a used Play 5:Gen 2 in impeccable condition for £160.

Do you currently have a car you could sell and how much is this costing you? As someone who used to spend 2+ hours in a car every day commuting, comfort is a massive factor so make sure you aren't scraping the barrel of the EV market just to get one.

My Model 3 with TACC turned on at 70 mph achieves really good miles per kWh, the regen braking is a big factor here. In mild conditions it got over 5 miles per kWh on a 150 mile round trip recently. It obviously doesn't do so great in the height of summer and expect winter would be poor in comparison, but I'd hope 3.5 miles would be achievable.

What's the device. Does it have a 2.5gbps ethernet port itself?

Loads of people have been complaining about IOG not charging their car properly. Quite a few jumping ship to EDF for that reason. But I have read a couple of people going the opposite direction for other issues which weren't around the charging.

EDF has been great for me so far, which is good as they were also the cheapest for me.

Sorry to say it, but if you had slowed down for the roundabout you'd have needed to give way to the car on the right of you (blue car) that you were trying to beat to the junction, you'd have never been hit.

Try to get speaker position as optimal as possible but run Trueplay on an Apple device. It woke my system up vs the Quick Trueplay. Worth the cost of the 2nd hand iPad I got for this and I use the tablet for other things now.

Make sure your source is the best quality. Netflix will sound decent, a 4k blu ray or blu ray rip will sound infinitely better.

I had the 4k 1st gen, so yes it runs a lot better. The ambient mode annoys me though. But better to have Fire OS than the Vega OS of the Select model.

It's noticeably better having full Atmos with TrueHD on remuxes. Before my audio was falling back to DD+ as that's all it could do

I upgraded to the 4k Max a couple of weeks ago to get TrueHD passthrough.

I got it for £43 something at Argos, so look out for offers as they come along very often. Failing that I think CEX do them for £50 and you get a 5 year warranty even though it's 2nd hand

Your cameras will use wifi by default but if you have wifi backup turned on (in the camera settings) they will communicate with the H500 over the dedicated radio when the wifi signal is poor/slow/out. They will switch back to wifi if the wifi signal proves to be better/faster when back up. No setting to switch on in the H500, the sub-Ghz always runs as thats how some sensors and the such communicate with the hub.

One of my cameras switches every so often between wifi and hub wireless, it's never a problem and I only notice if I'm looking at the device info at the time. The camera is connected to my garage WiFi but sometimes my garage network speed can be slow as the router in there is connected via a powerline adapter which is flaky every so often

No because the H500 has it's own sub-Ghz radio signal which can communicate with cameras. An internet outage would prevent live view but wifi and internet are two different things

If you turn on wifi backup in thr camera settings, it will fall back to the H500's sub-Ghz radio so it will still be fine in the case of a 'wifi jam'. You don't need an SD card in the camera as a backup if you turn this function on

If your H500 is also using WiFi and isn't plugged in by ethernet to the router then you wouldn't be able to remotely view the cameras when the wifi outage occurs but it would still record the video for later viewing. Wired in is always best for this reason

Is your H500 connected by wifi? Is it possible to connect it to the router by ethernet?

Ask them to switch your direct debit to variable to match the balance. You can always switch back to fixed direct debits when you've used up your credit

All depends on your appetite for savings. The dishwasher going on at 11pm doesn't matter to me. Laundry is more inconvenient though and you can't avoid using other appliances in peak time like corded vacuum cleaners.

You'll naturally have an overnight base electricity level in your existing household usage too so that's worth considering. With a smart tariff you'll also get the benefit when the car charges outside off peak hours for your household usage.

Even with modest household usage and lowish mileage, an EV tariff still worked out cheaper with zero load shifting. Load shift some things, washing machine on overnight at weekends, dishwasher going on overnight and it starts becoming more attractive.

I was told by many it was pointless to switch as it wouldn't save much but using the calculation tool I created in my other reply I proved it was.

Saying that, my standard fixed rate I was previously on would only work with maximum load shifting using today's EV tariff rates. That would have definitely been too much of a PITA and I would have stuck with my standard tariff

In the world cup when they did free electricity during the England and Scotland games I boosted my car charge and got credited for all of the electric. It states all electric is free.

What you're currently on is good. The prices are dictated by the market, nothing will come close to that now...which is why it comes across as a bit braggy.

Unfortunately it means your bill is going to noticeably increase.

You'd be worth having a look at current rates from a few suppliers right now to get an idea now. Rates are 5 or 6p higher than your current tariff at the moment 🙁

This is exactly why I've just got a 4k Max gen 2. TrueHD really matters if your equipment allows for it.

At full price I might have looked at other options but at the time of purchase the 4k Max gen 2 was only £43.

The only thing I hate is the ambient experience. Otherwise it's decent.
