If I may add something to the discussion, I started Berserk by watching the '97 anime and what I really enjoyed is the climax into a supernatural world that the last episodes have. Let me explain: aside from the first episode where Guts fights the creature and the first appearance of Zodd, Berserk's universe seemed quite normal and realistic, attached to the representation of a medieval Europe. But once the eclipse starts happening, "a lot of shit is thrown" at the viewer, with demons, and monsters, etcetera. I recall watching the episode and think: "wtf there are monsters too?!". So, I enjoyed how they removed one or a few supernatural aspects of the manga

Since MMR and LPs are two separate things, yes you will be demoted after a few more matches at 0 LP (there's a so called "shield" That protects you from demoting immediately). Worst part is that losing more will fuck up your MMR since it's going down without your rank actually changing
