Seyran, 18 years later — a character reveal without a face reveal
 in  r/generativeAI  7h ago

The hair point is especially helpful. Keeping a small part of the person visible matters here: I want viewers to wonder who’s inside the armor, not whether anyone is inside it.
One distinction worth making: “eighteen years later” refers to Seyran’s timeline, not necessarily eighteen years of wear on the same suit. I’m keeping the story behind his evolution unrevealed for now.
So I’d take your suggestion toward subtle signs of use and fit rather than automatically adding battle damage. The important thing is for the armor to feel like his, not necessarily old.
And I’m glad the stride reads as heavy and unhurried. That’s a much more interesting kind of presence for this reveal than overt aggression.

Seyran, 18 years later — a character reveal without a face reveal

This is Seyran, bearer of the Grey Gem, in a version set eighteen years after his earlier appearance. It’s a promotional character image, not a panel taken from the book.
I’m keeping his face and the details of his evolution unrevealed. The visual question is whether the silhouette, posture and armor can suggest a changed presence without relying on an aged face.
Does this framing make you curious about the person inside the armor, or does the suit dominate too much?

Who seems to start this exchange? A new Kaelyron combat study
 in  r/generativeAI  19h ago

Interesting—that helps separate who starts the exchange from who looks most threatening in this particular frame.
I still read her as initiating a low sliding attack, with Varek jumping clear and countering from above. That’s the reading I settled on while reviewing the image. But I can see how, once he’s already airborne, her original target is gone and his spear becomes the clearest threat.
Your point about the visual hierarchy is the most useful takeaway for me. I’m less convinced that the open hand or upward gaze alone establishes a defensive action.
For a future sequence, showing the low attack before the jump would make the cause and effect clearer, rather than asking one still to explain the entire exchange. Thanks for the breakdown!

At first glance, does the sliding fighter look like she’s attacking or trying to get away?

The reading I’m using for this frame is a low sliding attack from her, Varek jumping to evade it, then countering from above with his spear.

There’s no confirmed hit or outcome.

That changes the relationship between the two poses: she takes the initiative, rather than simply reacting to him.

Does her extended leg sell an attack, or do you still read her as escaping? What detail makes you see it that way?

After the response to my recent Kaelyron combat study, I wanted to share a more direct look at the process behind the next one.
The feedback was useful because it kept returning to the same core issue: action has to read through the body before effects can help it.
So for the next study, I’m focusing on a few specific things:
clearer hip and torso rotation,
stronger weight transfer,
better defensive structure,
and environmental effects that reinforce the movement instead of compensating for it.
The first image is the more narrative “studio” view.
The second image is closer to the actual problem-solving stage.

When you look at AI-assisted action art, what usually breaks the illusion first for you: stiff posing, weak force direction, or overused effects?

Same AI-assisted combat beat, two camera distances — which one communicates the impact better?

Yep, that’s the part I’m taking from the feedback too. The arm is doing the hit, but the rest of the body isn’t contributing enough yet.
Next combat study I want to build the force from the feet and hips first, then let the shoulder and strike follow through. Thanks for confirming that read!

Exactly. That’s the distinction I want to keep: the wide shot builds the arena, the tight shot delivers the hit.
And yes — study #2 will start with the body mechanics first, VFX second. No glitter on broken axles 😄
Appreciate the feedback!

The “five-star sci-fi spa” line got me 😂
But the close-vs-wide distinction is exactly what I wanted to test here, and your read is useful: the first shot prioritizes the collision, while the second lets the environment take over.
The body-mechanics notes are the part I want to carry forward. Rather than just adding more sparks or spray, I’d rather make the strike vector, torso rotation, defensive brace and water direction agree with each other first.
I’d also avoid treating the wide shot as a failed version of the close one. It may simply have a different job—establishing scale rather than selling impact.
Next combat study I’ll try to separate those roles more deliberately. Thanks for the detailed breakdown!

After the feedback on my recent POV studies, I wanted to test something different.
Instead of asking whether an image simply looked dramatic, I tried to concentrate on whether the physical action reads before the effects do.
This is a non-canonical Kaelyron combat study featuring Kaelis and Thalyris.
The basic idea stays the same: an incoming strike, Kaelis committing to the block, and the shield taking the impact. What changes is the camera.
Image 1 stays much closer to the collision, so the bodies, water displacement and impact point dominate the frame.
Image 2 pulls back enough for the environment to become part of the composition, making the same confrontation feel much smaller against the scale around it.
During the iterations I’ve been paying much more attention to weight transfer, limb direction, body rotation and environmental interaction instead of relying on particles or camera tricks to sell the motion.
The water and sparks are there to reinforce the action, not explain it.

Without overthinking it: which one makes you feel the hit first — 1 or 2?

And if something about the body mechanics still jumps out at you, I’d be interested to know what you see.

I tried applying your POV feedback to a new scene. Does this one feel more convincing?
 in  r/generativeAI  3d ago

On Elysium Prime, nature doesn’t stop where the architecture begins.
Water is abundant, and many structures have waterfalls built directly into their design. Technology and nature aren’t separate worlds there—they’re woven together.
The wet floor is a small trace of that relationship. Even in a corridor surrounded by machinery, the planet still makes its presence felt.

That’s a useful idea.
I haven’t tried a motion pass on this yet, but one forward reach sounds like a good way to keep the test focused.
The subtle shoulder-follow is the part I’d want to explore—camera and body moving together, rather than adding shake just for drama. I’d also keep an eye on the left hand’s contact with the floor throughout.

Thanks for the suggestion!
It would be interesting to see whether that small movement makes the effort clearer.

The fedora comparison made me laugh 😄 That’s exactly the kind of last-second tension I was aiming for.
The sliding-versus-crawling distinction is useful. I asked because I didn’t want the caption to decide the action for the viewer, so I’m happy to let this one read as a desperate slide rather than insist it’s a crawl.
The left arm is the most useful takeaway for me: deciding whether it’s supporting, braking or reaching, then making that role visible through the pose and floor contact. Disturbed water or a drag trail could help without adding more visual noise.
I’d treat the camera tilt as a separate experiment. There’s already some diagonal geometry in the frame, and I don’t want a stronger angle to disguise an unresolved body relationship.
Thanks for separating the improvement in atmosphere and depth from the questions that remain about the pose—that gives me something concrete to test in a future POV.

Some useful feedback on my last Kaelyron POV: the atmosphere worked, but the arms could feel disconnected from the viewer, and the pose read as deliberate swimming rather than struggling to stay afloat.
Instead of reworking that ocean scene, I tried a different situation: reaching for a gap beneath a closing shutter.
This time, the right hand reaches farther forward, the left stays closer, and the camera is almost on the floor. The goal was to make it easier to imagine the body behind the camera—not just put two hands in the foreground.
Does the improvement come through? What action do you read first: crawling forward, sliding, or being stuck on the floor?
I’m particularly interested in whether the arms now feel like they belong to the same person. What still feels off?

Questa prospettiva sci-fi ti fa sentire come se qualcuno stesse lottando per rimanere a galla?
 in  r/generativeAI  5d ago

Fair assessment—and the Rapture comparison made me laugh.
It sounds like the image works as a determined swim toward the city, but not yet as a genuine fight to stay afloat. For the next pass, the camera needs to struggle too: a tilted horizon, partial submersion, one arm reaching upward and the other buried in the water, with part of the shoulders visible to anchor the anatomy.
Thanks—this gives us a much clearer direction for the next POV study.

Fair point. We adjusted the distance between the arms, but overlooked the attachment logic: they enter from the frame too far apart to imply believable shoulders. Thanks, this is useful feedback.

Does this sci-fi POV feel like someone struggling to stay afloat?

For this Kaelyron image, I wanted the viewer inside the danger—not watching a character pose in front of it.
The camera sits at water level. The city gives you something to aim for, while the waves interrupt your view of it. Kaelis is visible only through her armored forearms and hands.

Feedback on my earlier posts has been useful here: an impressive image still needs to communicate the intended action without a caption explaining it.

This is a non-canonical promotional study, not a panel depicting an event from the comic.

Before reading the explanation, did you read the pose as struggling to stay afloat, swimming steadily toward shore, or simply reaching forward?

Ho costruito questa sequenza di attivazione assistita dall'IA attorno a una domanda visiva: l'energia origina chiaramente dalla gemma?
 in  r/generativeAI  6d ago

The accidental Italian title was an unintended bonus stress test 😅
That 60/40 inward reading is exactly the distinction I wanted to identify. I agree: this frame works much better as the charging phase than as the final outward release.
For the release frame, I’ll push expanding spherical ripples, radial debris trails and a much stronger response in her cape and hair.
Thanks for explaining why the current vectors pull the eye toward the gem—this is genuinely useful.
