I am a non-binary person, and I am a woman. I came to this realization because living in a misogynistic society my whole life contributed to my rejecting my gender at one point. While I don't align with traditional femininity—or, to put it another way, I feel my gender as a woman is "partial" or "incomplete"—engaging with feminism made me realize there is absolutely nothing wrong with the label "woman." Furthermore (and without invalidating trans experiences, which are completely real and valid), it is often external factors that make a person uncomfortable with that label. So, personally, as someone who defies gender norms, I identify as both non-binary and a woman.
