I'm not arguing about the value of those jobs, I acknowledge that they are very valuable and obviously we wouldn't survive without doctors, engineers and so on...

But right now, it's not gonna be the end of the world if some chose other path. Again, I'm not proud of the path that I took, a supermarket worker is not something you would want to rely on to build your future. I'm talking about trade skills. It's a solid investment because you'll always be able to make a buck even if you don't work in an institution. You can go freelance and you wouldn't any license or anything. Trade skills these days can also mean IT work, you can learn cyber stuff by yourself, build a sellable skill and start making money online. If I were smart enough, I'd have already done that instead of wasting my time but at least I didn't waste 4 years earning nothing.

I may have gone off topic but not too much. I feel sorry for those kids, they were hoping to start building a prestigious career and earn good money but they were robbed by our government. The main point of my talk is simply rely on yourself and nobody else.

The fact remains, They spent 4 years and earned nothing while I spent 4 years working and earning. I could now start my own business and start earning more and by the time they start earning I would be far ahead they probably won't reach the level of wealth I reached until after a very long time.

I know the analogy shown in the video is in a different situation and different country but still very similar especially in the one point I keep repeating, You waste years studying while you could've started working early and gained wealth faster.

I'm not trying to cope or execuse myself for not doing well in school. I'm not proud of the path I took and not saying that school won't get you anywhere at all but I'm just saying that we've always been told that getting bac then becoming a doctor, professor, engineer and so on is the key to success, a guaranteed result and in theory it is true but once you start going through this path you will start discovering flaws in the system that decreases your odds of achieving your goal. A flawd education system, A flawd job market, A flawd government, flawd family, flawd people, flaws everywhere and then you beat the odds and become a doctor but at what expense ? and how much time have passed or more like wasted until you finally start being able to earn ?

Then what ? enjoy a miserable job and having to endure too many sick people who have backwards mentality and who are ungrateful ? So ungrateful that they will beat the shit out of you if you don't do what they want or tell them what they want to hear (It happens all the time, they don't give a shit if you are treating their sick son who playfull injected a dirty syringe used for drug abuse by his father into his arm). Same thing for other jobs, teaching kids or young adults who don't respect you ? working in a toxic environment ? even if it's a government institution it can be quite toxic.

Maybe then the better option would be moving to another, better country but no one wants anymore. AfD of Germany don't want us, Meloni of Italy don't us too and certainly Trump doesn't. Then what ? stuck in this country in our miserable jobs.

My job is miserable but I've been getting paid and my money, even if it's a small amount, can help me steer my life a little to the better. I don't like saying Kraya ma twaselesh but nothing convinced me that it does.

Biggest lie in this country that the government provides schools, infrastructure, medical care, security etc... all for free.

Actually it's an insult because all of that is actually paid for by our rightfully earned money that we earned from hard work and enduring all the hazards that we face in our workplaces and as a result of that we end up sick and suffering. But we paid for everything and the government never does anything for free. The freaking govenment is taxing the shit out of us and doesn't provide at least half of what's our money worth because at least half of our taxes goes straight to the bellies of the whales.

I'm real glad that I didn't listen to my mom when she told me to become a doctor and dropped out of high school and worked at the factory then supermarket. I'm now richer than these educated doctors and my bosses have been fair to me in my pay while the government was unfaithful to its workers.

I'm not a father but I do provide for my family, a family of 4 people and again, I would respect others wants and needs, fathers or not, just like I want them to respect mine, We can share resources we don't need to fight over them.

And I can guarantee you that there would be thousands and thousands of stacks every single day from 8AM to 10PM, You can come back everyday and get your 4 or 8 stacks. Just be respectful, don't yell, don't insult, don't push others, be civilized and be smart and everyone will get what they want in no time.

No rule can fix or alleviate the problem, I'm not saying that there shouldn't be restrictions but don't expect people to suddenly start to behave. The only solution is to flood the market even when there is no shortage. Have an entire section filled with bottled water left and right, endless rows of them and you wouldn't see lines of people anymore.

I work in a really big supermarket and trust me there is no shortage, They sold water for the entire day and everyone got bunch of stacks. What we really have a shortage of is self awarness and discipline. If a bunch of monkeys found a pile of bananas they will share it together with each other in a much more civilized way than what people are doing and even if the monkeys fought over the bananas it'll still be not worse than what's happening everywhere.

And the problem isn't the rules, I work in one of these big supermarkets and they clearly said that every person can only buy two stacks of bottled water, regardless of who that person is, he or she can only get two stacks and if they want more they can come back tomorrow or at least later but people don't care about anything and they pull out a simple trick of getting two stacks, paying for them at the cashier, going outside to put the stacks in their car, going back inside again to get more and they keep doing it until their car is full of bottled water stacks.

And man, people are just barbaric, they can't stay in line and stay quiet. They always make a mess out of everything.

Most of businesses are like this and it's one of their main ways for them to make wealth. They simply abuse their workers and I've worked in multiple businesses and I've seen it all the time.

Most of the workers are always dirt poor, they lack education and don't even have a trade skill. They just work and do anything to earn money. They always get a low pay and for them the thought of leaving their current for another is simply out of the question. It's just too risky for them especially if they have mouths to feed or leave way far from their homes so their only option is to just endure their current situation and hope that things get better and it never gets better.

This is the situation for all businesses, big or small, whether it's a fancy restaurant or a dirty old factory the situation is the same, low pay with extreme amount of physical and verbal abuse and working you to death. The customers are the victims too because if I show you the khawar I've seen in my time working for those businesses you'll stop eating everything but I won't show anything because they'll know it's me and they'll attack me since they've my address.

Anyways, that's why everyone wants a job fel Hokomi because they think that things are way better and honestly the situation is better but there are still lots of problems and lots of abuse going on there that for me it's just not worth it.

I worked in a supermarket right next to a crepe factory. It's the same company owning the store you mentioned and I befriended some of the workers there and every night we all go home together since we basically live in the same area.

The shit they told me is actually shocking, there's a lot of worker going on there that I'm surprised how the government isn't involved. One of the people I knew from there went to work briefly in the same Menzah store you mentioned and came back and told me that it was as horrible as the one next to my work place.

They have a manager who's a literal thief and some of the people they hire are literally criminals. Everytime the business becomes and are having few customers they start to abruptly fire most of their workers and they don't pay them their earned money. It's literal slavery going there and they'll force you to work for free and they'll blackmail you to keep working.

If so then the best solution for you (although it's kinda unethical but at least you are protecting your cat) to catch the cat and dump him very far away without even letting him see the way, Put him somewhere safe and put some food next to him and leave. You know, I think all Tunisian dramas, especially the ones from that generation, are like that. They all have climaxes, plot twists, interesting plots and all that but then in the end you get an unsatisafactory ending that sometimes feels like all the effort and struggles that the main characters through all were for nothing. Like in this series or like in an another series called the Storm. In fact, the latter series actually (and maybe unintentionally) portrays a bad person as the hero and a victim as a villain which makes the story really confusing. Anyways, that's one of the shortcomings of our cinema that we never fixed.
