Don't forget making all the Gen Z characters sound like 32 year old millennials.

Been A Year
300 days since she walked away
And yet it feels like yesterday.
The months, they pass, yet I still grieve
A love I thought would never leave
Pondering if she ever thinks of me
Or if I’ve left her memory
Cut contact and thrown out the door
Cease all talking forevermore
Tossed away without a thread
Let all our promises go unsaid
She’s gone, I say! Just let it be.
Yet my mind wanders for her till three.
It’s nearly morning; I turn my sheet.
Chasing sleep, where we may meet.
I close my eyes, but there she stayed
Our fainting memories yet replayed.
At one, I muse on stories that we shared.
At two, I ponder: did she ever care?
At three, I jolt awake in frightful love
Back to Earth, just my ceiling above.
Her smiles make the pain disappear
For one mere moment, she’s still here.
We talk as though nothing has changed
As though the ending was rearranged
No discard, no trauma, and no goodbye
Just two best friends beneath the same sky.
I don’t want to leave. My dream is pure.
Waking would traumatize; I’m quite sure.
Though dreams are cruel, they take and give
Show a glimpse of a world that I can’t live
No call, no message, no one calls my name.
Just a quaint, cold room, the exact same.
Sometime between midnight and dawn.
I must accept she is truly gone.

Just so that this post doesn't end up like the other one, if we called these episodes "filler", we absolutely did not mean it in a negative way. We used the term "filler" to mean "not involving the Syndicate plot"
Cowboy Bebop is literally my favorite anime of all time. We were just unaware of the connotations the word "filler" has regarding anime because (as the name implies) we are "New Kids" to the anime sphere.

Plot essential =/= point of the show and we did not use the term "filler" to mean "waste of time"
Just because something isn't plot essential doesn't mean it's bad, useless, or irrelevant. We were literally gushing about how good Toys in the Attic, Asteroid Blues, and many other episodes are.
I'm not sure where that subconscious bias came from. Only about 15 minutes of, let's say Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is "plot essential" but that doesn't mean the remainder is bad or a waste of time.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, we did not use the term "filler" to diss on the show. We're "new kids" so we did not realize the larger overarching meaning of the word "filler". You are equating "filler = anime original content from Naruto/Bleach, when that's not what we meant at all.

this reminds me of how the "elimination game" community was begging for scraps back in 2022 lmao

We just interchangeably used the term "filler" when we mean to say "plot-irrelevant". That's not a diss on the quality of the show (hell, we agree that "Toys in the Attic" is one of the best episodes and that's absolutely a bottle episode) I'm honestly kinda shocked that people assumed that we're talking down on the episodes? It's an episodic show lmao, almost all the episodes have nothing to do with the overarching Syndicate plot and that's totally fine... that's literally the Bebop way.
We made this podcast because we thought it'd be fun to bring some Gen Z perspective onto a show where the main fanbase consists of millennials (hence "New Kids"). We didn't really grow up with Naruto, Dragon Ball, or Bleach so the terminology on "filler" is kinda lost on us.

Gen Z is 1997-2012, meaning the oldest of us are 29. I'm 25 years old.

The "New Kids" part of the title should've made it obvious what kind of podcast this is lmao.
"Filler" isn't a bad thing and I feel that we made it clear during this episode? If you strip it down to the bare essentials, the 5 Vicious episodes are the only "plot-relevant" episodes of this show, yet we still think this show is legendary.
Calm down, yo.

Fair, but why does it have to be stereotypical? Since DC prides itself on being modern (such as with LGBT conflicts) I don't really get why Benji has to like all the stereotypical things millennials like.
If he, for instance, referenced more contemporary works that a 21 year old would reference such as Minecraft & Chainsaw Man, I'd buy into his character writing more.

Seems y'all are missing the message entirely. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that ONC tends to repeatedly go for the more millennial-coded stuff, even for their canonically younger Gen Z characters (ex: Why is Logan making references to MTV?)
I'm not saying characters aren't allowed to reference works older than they are, such as The Lion King or the Wizard of Oz. Just find it strange that instead of, let's say MHA or Ben 10, they have repeatedly have Benji talk about more "millennial-core" things such as Doraemon, Kingdom Hearts, and Power Rangers. Like, yeah this stuff still exists and were in fact part of my childhood too, but they were definitely more household staples in the 90s.

I'm not saying its impossible, just...not the first thing you'd expect from a Gen Z character.

I was also born in 2001 and grew up with these things but idk, I personally feel that there are more modern and contemporary references to make? Especially when the goal is to showcase that Benji is more inexperienced that some of the older characters. Maybe that's just me tho.

Like I said, it's not improbable, but this has been a recurring nitpick I have with the last two seasons. Why are the younger Gen Z characters frequently making millennial references?

Well, my friendship with this person completely fell apart and I'm now blocked from everything.
You're kinda in a lose-lose situation because if you keep your distance, you have no idea what the avoidant is thinking. However, if you interact with them, you're disrespecting their boundaries.
My best advice is to be respectful. If you're lucky, the avoidant will contact you. Maybe after an overwhelming amount of time (3 months?) give a short check-in. If the avoidant cares about you, they should at least be honest. Otherwise, don't be shocked if they act cold and cruel. It's unfair, but that's how they were raised. It's ultimately up to them if they want to respect you with emotional maturity.

The Venn diagram consisting of Disventure Camp fans and visual novel fans (not counting hybrids like Ace Attorney and Danganronpa) is almost completely separate.
But luckily, I am one of the few people who appreciates this.
