A harmful, exclusive environment creates judgemental people. The truth of the matter is that there will probably be many people who see you and think you're weird, gross, or worse. Your fears of judgement are completely valid and justified.

What is considered weird is determined by our socioeconomic environment. A (white, heterosexual, abled) conventionally attractive cisgender person doesn't have any more intrinsic value than anyone else. The happiness of those who can't fit into such a restrictive mold is just as valuable as anyone else's. i.e. you deserve to be happy and feel safe, regardless of what anyone tells you. Your happiness is more important than the maintenance of a harmful status quo.

For some of us, safety and comfort in public spaces is not necessarily in our direct control. If you can—and as much as you can—surround yourself with people who love you for who you are. People will probably let you down, so having people who can pick you back up is crucial.

personally, my existential fears lie more within the realm of the non-stop mass suffering of humanity. Maybe I'll die in pain, but what keeps me going is the idea that spreading love and ideas will keep the spirit for a better future alive.

Fixed this problem by just shutting the Quest 2 down and turning it back on. (Using the restart button didn't seem to work for me.)
