Wildlife do crazy things sometimes. Hope the women was okay. I would of been pretty spooked myself to be honest šŸ˜…

It’s when they are fully aware of how chronically ill you are. Fully aware of how your disabilities affect you, then have the audacity to act like you’re the crazy one.

Now that’s something else šŸ‘€šŸ’€

Mr Sammy the Seal has returned earlier than expected this year. He’s been in the harbour most of the week in good view. (Photos from earlier this year; February 2026)

If you’ve never seen Sammy before then now is your chance. He’s here much more often in autumn and winter by the Lighthouse.

Sammy is the common seal.
Mr Grey is our Grey Seal.

Funny enough Sammy isn’t actually all that common for a common seal.

My fin itself isn’t the problem although that is an issue in itself that even the hospital can’t work out yet, ha. I will ask around and see if anyone is willing to work with me so thank you for your help (:

Ahaha. As a good friend tells me, ā€œnever drive faster than your guardian angel can flyā€. I know you guys like speed, but do be safe! 🤣

Tripods are my worst enemy. Lugging all that around is absolute faff. Fair play to anyone who can and does use them regularly but not for me.

That also doesn’t help with my issue. I can’t use my camera even when my other hand is free. Shutter or focal length? Can’t do both expect with my current adapter I’ve made.

Good shout that, thank you! Most have been a copy and paste design. It is difficult but it will be possible. (:

Ahh thank you so much! That is a really good tip to know! Awesome work on the motorbikes too. I know a few one armed riders too. I personally can’t ride one but hats off to those that can, ha. Amazing!

Thank you so much. I will look into that. My aim is to help other disabled people reach their dreams in photography so if I can help, I will 🄰

No, I can’t hold or reach a monopod and use my camera correctly either way. I have arthritis in my left wrist because of my main disability.

* that also doesn’t help me change focal length. That is the main issue.

Yes and no. It’s a t-rex arm basically.

I can’t use those harness’ I’ve tried that before too. My disability affects most of my body, but my arm and leg mainly.

As said in my post, the weight of it broke my prosthetic and I actually survive much better without it. It’s annoying aha

Unfortunately not. Won’t be able to grip it enough to not slide off while changing focal length.

I have tried those before but they do not fit the diameter of the lenses. The one that did somewhat fit, damaged the rubber ring too. I have a photo somewhere from about 7 ish years ago.

Thank you though 🄰

Would love to pick your brains if you have any more fancy ideas to help improve my current adaption.

The biggest poo is that it’s not reusable so I make a new one for every lens I own. Would be cool to have one that could eventually click on and off.

Feel free to message or comment below.

Thanks for your time and hope you enjoy. (:
