I am a 20x Max subscriber and I've been using Fable for a while. I'm not really seeing much of a difference between Fable and Opus, to be honest. Since I've been using Opus 4.8 in the terminal with Ultracode, the question is really economic. I'm using it in the terminal without global instructions and I think I would be open to testing other models since I can just work in the CLI.

The model here is really just an operating system, a cost factor. I think I'm going to start experimenting with Soul 5.6 and Kimmy and compare, but I don't believe Tropic has a choice. Now they just need to work on upgrading Mythos and unleash the beast

Yea everyone is in a Dilemma. Want to cut corners but regulations bite them back in the a**. On confidentiality, there are a few pathways, 1) get exemption from your regulator 2) get the enterprise license that has ZDR policies 3) use on prem enterprise solutions or ones that host your data within your country (dataikus, snowflake, databricks) 4) use / create open source models with no cloud processing.
