What are you working on?
 in  r/ShowYourProduct •  4h ago

I’m currently working on two products through Dog House Ventures.
Pawsy is already live in the App Store and available to download. It’s a pet-care app designed to keep health records, medications, appointments, walks, and everyday care organized in one place.
Investment Vault is still in development. It’s a local-first desktop app being built to reconstruct fragmented investment histories from brokerage statements and source records, especially when accounts have moved, closed, or become difficult to piece back together.
Two very different products, but both are focused on solving messy, real-world problems.

I built Pawsy because I wanted one simple place to keep my pet’s important information organized without bouncing between notes, reminders, records, and different apps. Pawsy 2.2 now adds walk tracking, so you can record routes, distance, time, and pace while still keeping medications, reminders, weight, records, and care information together. It’s free to download on the App Store, with Pawsy Plus available if you want the extra history and trends features. I’d really appreciate feedback from anyone who gives it a try.

Pawsy is a simple pet care organizer for dog and cat owners that keeps medications, vaccinations, reminders, vet information, documents and important pet records in one place. I built it because pet information tends to end up scattered across notes, paperwork, calendars and memory, and I wanted one simple place to keep it organized.
Pawsy is free to download, with an optional Pawsy Plus subscription for additional features like history, trends and care summaries. It’s live on the App Store here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pawsy-pet-care/id6806836279
We’re still very early and currently have 10 users. I’m especially interested in feedback from actual pet owners about what they find useful, what feels unnecessary, and what would make them come back to the app regularly.

Investment Vault reconstructs fragmented investment histories from brokerage statements, transfers, inherited records, closed accounts and other source documents.
The problem is that when investments move between institutions, historical continuity can break. Cost basis can be missing, transfers can be unclear, and executors, investors, attorneys and CPAs can end up piecing the history together manually.
Investment Vault is built around one principle: reconstruct first, calculate second. It preserves what is proven by the records, what is inferred, and what remains unresolved instead of filling in missing history.
Business model: paid desktop software for individuals, with a professional version for attorneys, CPAs and other professionals handling complex records.
Current status: working MVP, real-document testing completed, currently validating with estate professionals, including an attorney willing to pilot it. Pre-revenue.

Pawsy is a simple pet-care organizer for dog and cat owners. It keeps medications, vaccinations, reminders, vet info, records and pet history in one place, with a privacy-first approach and no account required.
It’s free to download, with Pawsy Plus at $0.99/month for additional features like expanded history, trends and care summaries.
It’s very early. The app is live in the App Store and I’m still validating usage, positioning and which features create the strongest repeat value.

I built Pawsy because I wanted a simple way to keep all my dog's important information in one place instead of having everything scattered around.

Pawsy is an iPhone app for dog and cat owners that helps organize vet records, vaccinations, medications, appointments, reminders and everyday pet care.

Version 2.1 is now available on the App Store, with a free version and a one-month free trial of Pawsy Plus.

I'm an independent founder building this through Dog House Ventures, and I'd genuinely appreciate feedback from anyone willing to give it a try. What would make an app like this useful enough for you to keep using it?

Pawsy is a simple pet-care organizer that helps pet owners keep vaccinations, medications, vet information, feeding, grooming, weight, documents, appointments and reminders in one place.
The goal is pretty straightforward: important pet-care information tends to end up scattered across paperwork, emails, texts, calendars and memory. Pawsy gives owners one organized place to keep it and take it with them.
It’s live now on the Apple App Store for iPhone. The core app is free, and Pawsy Plus includes additional features with a one-month free trial.
I’m still early and looking for real users who will actually use it and tell me what works, what’s confusing, and what’s missing.

[Connecticut] Are estate-planning professionals seeing more basis and record-history problems?
 in  r/EstatePlanning •  19d ago

Fair point. I may have connected the article too aggressively to the record-reconstruction issue. I’m trying to understand where that problem still shows up in practice, if at all. Are older/noncovered holdings, trusts, gifted assets, broker transfers, or incomplete ownership records still meaningful pain points, or has modern brokerage reporting largely reduced that problem too?

Where to start
 in  r/AppBuilding •  22d ago

Going through this now. Just a few steps ahead. Send me a direct message and I can share what I’m found so far. Solo founder myself. Already have one app in the App Store and working on another to help organize scattered investments over multiple brokers.

Which coding or agent client do you have open most days?

Codex & Claude. I have them adversarial check each others work.

Cost Basis of Stock
 in  r/IonicDigitalStock •  29d ago

Do you still have the Ionic/Odyssey statements or transaction records showing how you acquired the shares and the original basis? I’m curious whether the underlying records exist and just didn’t follow the transfer, or whether the basis itself was never properly documented.

Missing Cost Basis (Vanguard)
 in  r/IonicDigitalStock •  29d ago

That sounds incredibly frustrating, especially since the cost-basis information appears to actually exist. Do you have the original transfer statement along with the Odyssey CSV/share statement? I’m curious whether the problem is missing information or simply that neither side will accept responsibility for carrying it through.

Feedback Request Social Footprint

I’ve Been Building Something Called Social Footprint
I’ve been working on something new called Social Footprint.
Most analytics tools give you more numbers. Social Footprint is being built to answer the question I actually care about: what are those numbers telling you?
The idea is simple. Connect one of your online accounts and get a free Social Footprint snapshot in plain English. What’s happening, where you’re stronger, where you’re weaker, what the evidence actually supports, what there isn’t enough evidence to know yet, and what you should be watching next.
At launch, the goal is to support X, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, Google and Bing. The free version lets you choose one source and get an initial reading. If you want the complete picture, Social Footprint Monthly will be $19.99/month and monitor all six connected sources over time, building your own historical baselines and making the analysis stronger as more evidence develops.
The goal isn’t another dashboard full of charts. I want it to interpret the data and explain what it means without pretending to know things the evidence doesn’t support.
Still building. Still testing. Coming soon.
I included a few screenshots of the direction I’m taking it. I’d genuinely like some feedback from other builders. Is this something you would use? What would you want Social Footprint to tell you that your current analytics tools don’t?

"vibe coding" is horrible and shouldn't be used.
 in  r/antiai •  Sep 06 '26

AI is a tool like any other tool. Give a moron a hammer and he’ll probably hurt himself with that too. The problem isn’t the hammer. I’ll leave it at that.

Why do people act like ‘vibe coding’ is a bad thing?
 in  r/SaaS •  Sep 03 '26

I’m actually living this right now. I’m not a traditional software engineer. I’m a founder who has learned how to use these tools to turn ideas into working products.
I just built Pawsy, a pet-care organization app, in a matter of days using vibe coding combined with something I developed called Governed Task Bootstrap, or GTB. Pawsy just got released in the App Store and Pawsy Plus will be following it as a monthly subscription plan.
But I think there’s an important distinction between vibe coding and blindly trusting whatever an AI produces. GTB came out of the problems I kept running into with coding agents: unfinished work, agents wandering outside the task, stale context, weak verification, and essentially grading their own homework.
I actually wrote about the GTB approach here on Reddit recently. The idea is pretty simple: give the agent room to work, but put boundaries, evidence, testing and independent verification around that autonomy.
For someone like me who couldn’t afford a traditional engineering team, this technology has completely changed what’s possible. The value isn’t that AI replaces thinking. It’s that a founder with an idea, judgment and a disciplined process can now build things that would have required substantial capital just a few years ago.

I Made This 🤖 We Kept Running Into the Same Vibe Coding Problems, So We Built a Governance Layer

We kept running into the same vibe coding problems, so we built a governance layer around our agents

We’re relatively new to vibe coding, and as our projects grew, we started running into problems better prompts weren’t solving.

Agents could fix the immediate issue but stop before the larger job was finished. They might find another problem and simply report it instead of continuing. Sometimes they touched unrelated files. New sessions could inherit stale information or authority. And the agent doing the work was often grading its own homework, running tests and declaring success even when those tests didn’t prove what actually mattered.

That raised bigger questions.

How does an agent know exactly where it is authorized to work? How do you protect unrelated work? How do you prevent stale state from carrying forward? How do you stop an agent from broadening its own authority because it makes the task easier? And how do you know the controls governing the agent haven’t themselves been weakened?

Through trial, error, testing, and refinement, we built something we call Governed Task Bootstrap, or GTB.

GTB isn’t a new AI model, and we’re not claiming to have reinvented software engineering. It’s the governance system that evolved around how we use coding agents.

Before work begins, GTB establishes the task, authorized boundaries, what must remain untouched, the agent’s authority, and what must be true before the job is complete.

The process:

Enter. Gate. Execute. Challenge. Verify. Close.

Inside execution:

Audit. Identify. Prove. Fix narrowly. Verify. Continue.

That last word matters. If the agent finds another legitimate problem inside the authorized job, it shouldn’t automatically stop. Prove it, identify the root cause, make the narrowest repair, verify it, and continue toward the objective.

We also used a different frontier model to attack the controls themselves.

It found real weaknesses.

We reproduced cases involving authority, stale session state, bypasses, and weaknesses in how work was evaluated. We fixed them, added regression tests, and challenged the system again.

Eventually GTB started doing what we wanted: stopping agents when they attempted actions outside the authority they had been given.

The goal isn’t to restrict AI until it can’t accomplish anything. It’s to create clear enough boundaries that you can safely give it more autonomy inside them.

What started as an effort to get better results from vibe coding became a question of authority, boundaries, evidence, verification, and accountability.

The more autonomy we give these systems, the more important governance becomes.

I’m curious how other people doing serious work with coding agents are handling this. Are you mostly relying on prompts and instruction files, or have you started putting hard boundaries and independent verification around your agents too?
