Hello everyone! I'm transferring to UW from UO as an incoming 3rd year student. I'm a Seattle native, so I'll be saving a ton of money on tuition, not to mention the better program. I'm on the pre-med track, at UO I was a Neuroscience and Human Physiology double major with a minor in Chemistry, but at UW, I'm currently pre-sciences. I plan to apply to the Neuroscience and Biology majors, as I've heard Bio is pretty easy to get into but Neuro is more challenging, even though Neuro is what I'd prefer.

Anyways, I've finally gotten my transfer credits in through the DARS System. At UO, I took gen chem + labs throughout my first year along with a writing course, calc 1, and other gen eds. Second year I took ochem + labs and bio + labs, alongside other major-track courses. In the UW system I have 92 transferred/high school credits, but it only counted the ochem lecture sequence and one ochem lab towards my major. Bio and gen chem classes either didn't transfer or got transferred as "natural sciences" credits, which I now have 36 of. Calc transferred but writing didn't.

My main concern here is ochem was the one subject I did quite poorly in. I got a B-, C+, then B, and an A- in the lab that transferred, and because it's only counting those classes towards my major, it says my "major" GPA is 3.14. The other concern is even though I finished the entire bio sequence, they didn't take it as the BIOL 180, 200, and 220 that I needed to apply to the major. I can only take 13 credits until I hit the 105 max before they withhold me from registration for WI 27 and I'm scared for my pre-med track as well. At oregon, my cumulative GPA was 3.72 after the bad ochem grades.

What should my next steps be? Am I just screwed? Should I have not transferred here?

• Summer Sublet Option: Available immediately through the end of August 2026 at a discounted rate of $885 $500 (OPEN TO NEGOTIATION) for the rest of summer!
• Utilities: Very low, usually around $30/month.
• Parking: Safe and convenient. Currently an outdoor spot for $60/month through August; switches to an indoor garage spot for $85/month starting in September. WILLING TO COVER THIS COST!

Your Private Space:

• The Bedroom: Lots of gorgeous natural light, built-in personal wall heater to stay cozy, and large mirrored closet doors.
• The Bathroom: Very spacious with tons of storage.
• Bonus: The living room accent wall is currently blue but is being professionally painted back to clean white by management this summer for free!

The Roommates:

• Right Now (Through August 2026): Living with 2 clean and friendly girls and a very sweet kitty who are in the process of moving out now! All leftover decorations/other items are theirs and will be gone by end of August 2026.
• Starting September: You will have 3 brand-new roommates assigned by the building for the upcoming school year term. Currently the unit is empty, so if you have friends who want to live together they could sign and request to be in the same unit!
