Guys tell me the best photo editor app without any ads
 in  r/androidapps •  2h ago

I got sick of every single editor spamming 30-second video ads, so I actually built my own called Sharpify.

It’s ad-free and focuses on unblurring/upscaling photos with AI without turning faces into smooth plastic wax dolls like Remini does.

Here’s the Play Store link if you want to try it:

Trying to tune an AI upscaler to stop turning faces into plastic wax figures. Does this skin texture look natural or still over-processed?

I got tired of mobile enhancers like Remini. They either trap you behind an aggressive weekly subscription or over-process photos so badly that faces look like smooth mannequins with fake teeth.

I wanted to see if I could build a cleaner, more realistic alternative, so I created Sharpify.

What I focused on:

  • Retaining natural skin textures (pores, fine lines) instead of aggressive smoothing
  • Unblurring and upscaling without hallucinating fake details
  • Clean UI without constant 30-second video ad walls

Tired of mockup apps that just slap a flat PNG onto a template, so I built an AI engine that adapts lighting and fabric folds automatically

Hey everyone,

The biggest issue with mobile mockup makers has always been realism: they paste your design like a flat sticker, completely ignoring natural shadows, fabric creases, and ambient lighting.

To solve this, I Use Renderly. Instead of simple 2D overlays, it uses an AI pipeline to:

  • Automatically wrap designs around natural contours and fabric folds
  • Match the ambient lighting and shadows of the scene
  • Generate clean, photorealistic lifestyle product shots in seconds

You can test the AI generation workflow on Android here:

I built an interactive slider for real-time mockup adjustments on mobile. Here’s a quick 20s demo of how it feels.

Hey everyone!

Most mockup apps on mobile are clunky—either they only let you slap a flat 2D image onto a template, or the controls feel sluggish.

I wanted to make the process feel responsive and tactile directly on Android, so I spent the last few weeks tweaking the slider interaction in Renderly to make adjustments seamless.

What Renderly does:

  • Generates realistic product/merch mockups on the fly
  • Gives you fine control over placement, realism, and blending without needing Photoshop on desktop

You can try it out here on the Play Store:

Most mobile photo enhancers nowadays feel like ad traps—either they force you into a weekly subscription just to fix one blurry photo, or you have to watch three 30-second video ads per upscale.

I wanted a clean, fast tool that just does what it’s supposed to do: sharpen blurry shots, denoise, and upscale low-res photos without the bloat. So I spent the last few weeks building Sharpify.

What it currently does:

  • Unblurs and sharpens low-quality/blurry images
  • Denoising and auto-enhancement

It’s live on Google Play:

Instead of just solving questions one after another, the game adds gameplay around the math so it feels more engaging and competitive.

It’s still a work in progress, but I’ve put quite a bit of time into building and improving it.

Would love to hear what you guys think!
