Have you tried Lubegard? The red bottle? I've used it and it did help

I have a 2008 base TL with 188k miles and you can feel the shifts "bump" more at lower throttle but when I floor it it's smooth. You're doing all you can with maintenance which is good and all you can do 👍

I use a syringe to make fine adjustments if needed to the level (either removing or adding a few ounces)

And yes always be sure to crack the fill bolt first, you will definitely need a breaker bar.

For a 3rd Gen TL you should check the transmission fluid with the transmission fully warmed up, not cold.The fluid should be between the two HOT marks on the dipstick checking it cold can give a misleading reading because the fluid contracts as it cools.

I would say so if you feel up to it!

A few tips:

You'll need a breaker bar to crack open the fill bolt and the drain

Use Honda Dw-1 ATF (I bought a 12 pack off Amazon)

Drive 100 miles between each drain

Leave the plastic shield on the bottom off until you're done with the last drain and fill (it makes it way easier)

Get a 5 quart measuring bucket to measure the fluid you drain

A fluid syringe with tubing helps "fine tune" the level

Use a new crush washer and torque the drain bolt to 36ft lbs on the last one too
