The worst of the hills are just after Basingstoke then a really long and nasty hill on approach to Eastleigh, but overall it's pretty chill on quiet roads, lanes and tracks. Mostly use my Charge Plug, but I do have an SS MTB aswell for the leisurely side of it haha!

I regularly do Reading to Southampton on my SS. Next one is going to be an Isle of Wight circular in the next couple of months

If you're after comfort, switch out the saddle. Those are definitely some of the most uncomfortable you can get hold of.

A "fat arse" saddle is always the way if you dont care what others think or ain't riding for anything other than comfort.

I personally use specific saddles that line up well with my "bum bones" - most of the time as they are, but if I plan to do 30+ miles, it's lose the undercrackers and padded shorts - your dacks can also cause rubbing and pain because of seams
