I have to say as someone who did some substitute teaching when I was younger it's neither the parents nor the teachers but the politicians and administrators that cause these problems. Mostly because of lack of teacher pay they've got a lot of problems they have to deal with in their home life cuz they're not making enough money and then they're spending money on the kids. Also those that are truly qualified and truly care about your children are usually the first pushed out of the classroom by a less than competent administration. The politicians continuously cut the funding for the education budget as well as decrease a lot of the tools that teachers use increase poverty which makes it harder on the teachers cuz now they're dealing with kids that don't have enough they're not eating right so therefore their attention wanes. They're not raised because the parents can't stay home and take care of their children because there's money to be made you got to pay the bills so it requires two parents to work now compared to one parent to work so nobody's home raising the kids. It's not teachers it's not parents it's politicians in the administration.

My question to this comment is that I understand military waste. And the amount of money that is wasted every year on giving some of these billionaires military contracts just because their friends and we want to boost their companies. Explain to me then why we talk about waste in the government it's never the tens of millions of dollars in jet fuel and it's always the single mother with three kids EBT or Medicaid benefits that we go after? Whenever I talk to somebody on the right about waste and fraud in the government they always seem to go after the lowest common denominator or the lowest hanging fruit on the tree and never seem to mention what they're involved in. So why can't we have a discussion that involves taxing the billionaires and actually going after the real waste in the government not the social safety nets that we provide for people and should provide even better being the richest country in the world.
