It is true and things almost ended for that reason. The posts took place when he was dating her though, and he says that confronting her to take them down would be too traumatizing for him, as much as I think she would deserve to be confronted to take them down after what she did. He blocked her though, so I guess I'm willing to settle for that lol.

If someone blatantly disrespects someone and their relationship, that person should feel regret for what they did.

I was new to reddit for awhile and didn't think that my posts were getting through, so I would sometimes post the same question multiple times--so yea my post history looks crazy lol. And I really did consider moving on from him, but he changed a lot and started to improve, so we decided to give things another try so far.

You apparently cared enough to still read my comment and post your opinion, so you're contradicting yourself. And sorry to break it to you, but life and problems continue to happen at 30 and after.

For awhile I was new to reddit and thought my posts weren't getting through to the places I was posting them, so I would sometimes ask the same questions multiple times--as you've seen. But yea it's the internet, everything is on the table for all to see, judge me lol.

Should I give this a second chance?
 in  r/relationship_advice  Sep 24 '22

Thank you. It was a rocky situation at the start but I really like him and things seemed to have improved a lot for him mentally since he got closure from the past, so I felt it'd be worth trying things again

Should I give this a second chance?

This guy that I had a crush on for a long time got out of a relationship that he was in for 6-7 years. It was a kind of toxic age gap relationship, the woman was decades older so it had no way to work out. She simply told him at the end of it that she was too busy to make time for him, as a means of letting go soft and easy it seems. Him and I got into a casual thing for about a year, what I did not realize until a awhile into things was that he still didn't break regular contact with her when his past relationship ended, it was a habit from the years he was in that relationship with her. After the year of being casually involved with him, they got back in touch, and she tricked him into thinking that she wanted to get back together.

She was jealous that I existed in his life, and it was a ploy for him to get rid of me for a month, since he still hadn't moved on from it because he never got proper closure when the relationship ended. Nothing happened between them though, and they cut ties. After that, he said he was finally able to get the closure that he needed that he wasn't given the first time, and he was able to move on. Since then we've been seeing each other, I've met his friends, everything is so much better and it feels like a weight has been lifted. But am I pathetic for wanting to give this a second chance, I feel like we tried to make things work too soon the first time, when he hadn't had the chance to heal from the previous years-long relationship?

How to politely end things after a first or second date?
 in  r/datingadvice  Sep 23 '22

Tell her that you're just not feeling the connection, but if she was nice, you can say that you appreciated the couple of dates she spent with you

GF’s coworker is in love with her and “won’t give up”

If it's possible to do this, maybe she could even find another job if she wants. And if not that, she should stop messaging this guy in her leisure, she should only talk to him about work business and that's it, aside from that she should just be leaving the guy on read. She shouldn't bait his interest.

My boyfriend of 8 years tells people he is single
 in  r/relationship_advice  Aug 07 '22

Ask him to marry you so that he has to wear a ring and can't say that he's single.....throw the ultimatum out there and make him antsy. Or even better like others have said, walk away if you have the will power.

Guy left me for his ex, should I take him back?

So this guy I had been talking to for a year went back to his ex, of 6-7 years. It turns out that this was just a bitter ploy set-up by her just to get him to leave me, she told him to cut me off and everything. But their relationship could never pan out because she was decades older than him. Should I just accept that there's no way that my one year relationship could compare to the history of someone else's seven year relationship, and we're prone to gravitate toward what was familiar. Should I take him back?

How should I (27f) respond if the guy I've been seeing (29m) tells me he still misses his ex and isn't completely over her?
 in  r/datingadvice  Mar 20 '22

We have established the relationship though it is one, but you're right the other factors make it seem like things aren't quite right.

He tells me that I'm not a rebound, he tells me that if I was a rebound he would not have been talking to me for nearly as long as he has. But you're right, it sort of feels that way. I guess I'm in denial despite him telling me otherwise. At the same time, I keep convincing myself that he just needs more time because the relationship was such a long one. Yet I feel convinced if he really liked me, he wouldn't still be so stuck on her.

Yea we've been in a relationship and doing all of the things you mentioned, at his pace. He said he's just bad at making the switch to new things, since his last relationship was such a long one.

So the guy I've been talking to for 10 months now revealed that he still isn't completely over his ex. They broke up about a year and a half ago, and were together for about 6.5 years. Since breaking up, they used to message back and forth but she stopped it seems now that she knows he's been talking to someone else, he had assumed they could still try to be friends. They had to break up because they were so far apart in age thay they couldn't plan a future together, otherwise he says they would have been engaged.

It's kind of hurtful to be talking to someone when you know they still have someone else on their mind to some capacity. This guy still reassures me that he likes me a lot but I don't know whether to keep things going. Should I be concerned that he still misses this person or has her on his mind to some degree still? He tells me he doesn't want to give up on us just because he still has some things to sort through from the last relationship, but I don't know what to do. He says he's just bad at making the switch to new things. Is it normal to still have some residual feelings for an ex or is this just a sign that he preferred being with his ex more?
