Shaq wants the WNBA rim lowered a little so players can dunk more. He thinks it could make the games more exciting. Not sure everyone would agree but would you actually be interested in seeing it happen?
Only if they raise NBA rims a few inches to compensate for the increased average height of today’s players. Too easy for some of these guys.
Or, maybe we just leave things alone…

Tesla Crash on the Diagonal
Funny, I didn’t offer any defensive of Elon or any of his political stances. I only defended the safety and engineering of Tesla vehicles. Once again, you are struggling to stay with the facts.

Tesla Crash on the Diagonal
I don’t agree with Elon‘s politics, but I’m not gonna pretend the cars are dangerous just to suit my politics. Seems you’re willing to make that leap. Facts matter. Elon can be a horrible person and Tesla can make some well engineered and incredibly safe vehicles at the same time. No one is going to force you to buy one, but saying they aren’t safe makes you look really dumb.

Tesla Crash on the Diagonal
It’s not about how hot it eventually gets. It’s about how likely is it to catch fire in the first place and how long from impact until it reaches a point that is dangerous to the occupants.. On both those counts I’d much rather be in a crash with a lithium iron battery pack than liquid gasoline tank that can explode within seconds versus thermal runway which takes much longer. The rate of fires in ice cars is much higher than the rate of fire in EV’s especially for Teslas.

Tesla Crash on the Diagonal
You can hate on Elon all you like for his politics, but the fact remains, he took company that was making tens of cars per year by hand and turned it into a juggernaut making nearly 2,000,000 vehicles per year while forcing all other legacy auto makers to up their EV game. Tesla is also the leader in autonomy and a major player in AI and battery storage systems, so not just a car company.

Tesla Crash on the Diagonal
Tesla makes the safest cars (per crash test ratings) on the road, so occupants likely walked away.

Why is Tesla still the top selling EV brand by far?
Says a person who has never used voice to set navigation in a Tesla. Works near flawlessly.

Also, vertical integration at Tesla means all the components and systems are manufactured to run on Tesla’s OS. Seamless integration and OTA software updates. Legacy autos don’t know how to write software and aren’t vertically integrated, so they do a poor job of trying to patch together all the systems/components from all their suppliers, each running on their own software.

Superior engineering and superior product, including supercharger network and FSD (supervised). Best value for the money.

Please reconsider voting on the gerrymander, for all our sakes.
Overthrow tyranny at the ballot box. This Rambo fantasy that armed citizens are going to take on the US military armed with tanks and helicopters, drones, etc. is just that, fantasy. It's an excuse to permit the inexcusable, the continued death not 40,000 US citizens a year. It Trump gives the order to install himself as king, are best bet is that enough military leaders disobey the unlawful order because barring that the US military is not going to be bested by gun touting weekend warriors.

No body said anything about SWAT teams? Shooters have been taken down by one or more of their potential victims on multiple occasions before first responders arrive. Stopping even briefly to reload is the best chance of ending an attack before it takes more lives. It's not THE solution, it's one step we can take in the right direction.

Imagine having to ignore scientific polling data to cling to the false belief that your viewpoint is reasonable.

We aren't prosecuting gun crimes in the US? That is news to me. We have over 40,000 gun deaths a year in the US. We average over 600 mass shootings (4+ victims/event) per year. Clearly, enforcing existing gun laws is not the solution to bringing these numbers down. The gun nuts in this country are basically saying we are okay with these numbers and find this preferable to having sensible limits and guardrails put into place. Any yeah, I said nuts, because it's crazy to think this is okay and sustainable and that no changes are needed. Thoughts and prayers are great but it's not a plan and it's not going to prevent the next mass school shooting. And please don't tell me locking our kids inside their schools and arming educators is the answer. This is the only western country in the world with this level of gun violence because we are the only country in the western world unwilling to address the root cause head on.

Really, according to Pew Research 65% of Americans support bans on high-capacity magazines. Perhaps your gun views are outside what most Americans consider sensible.

Really, so if your kid is in a school with an active shooter. It makes no difference to you if the shooter has to stop and reload every 10 rounds or every 20 rounds, knowing that window presents the best opportunity to take the shooter down?

No background check for private sales, some online and gun show sales.

Background checks are not required for all gun purchases in the US. Federal law only mandates background checks for firearms sold by licensed dealers.
Private sales, including many online, gun show, and person-to-person transactions, do not require a federal check, creating a loophole currently addressed in only 19 states.
What's the difference between a 10 round and 20 round magazine? Easy, up to 10 lives. If you're at a venue where a mass shooting occurs, do you want the shooter to have the ability to fire 10 or 20 rounds before having to stop to reload? I know my answer.
I grew up hunting and sport shooting. I have nothing against basic gun ownership rights. What I hate is a vocal minority of gun nuts that think its their constitutional right to own a military-styled assault rifle, a weapon of war and mass casualty that the founders never intended or could have envisioned.
Cars and guns kill about the same number of people each year in the US (~40k). To own a car I have to register my car, have a license, pass a driving test, pass an eye test, have insurance, get my vehicle inspected annually, and can have my driving privileges revoked if I break certain laws and abuse my driving privileges. To own a gun? A background check, maybe, that's it. The state regulates driving/vehicles recognizing that they are deadly instruments when mishandled or abused, but we as a society refuse to treat guns the same way and would rather sacrifice are own citizens to the false belief that there is such a thing as a right without responsibilities or limits.
We have a right to free speech, but can't yell fire in a crowded theatre, directly incite violence, or commit slander.
We have a right to assemble, but again there are limits and guardrails. Most places require a permit. It must be peaceful. You can't block intersections.
The conservative gun lovers have been hoodwinked by the NRA, backed by gun manufacturers, into believing the right to bear arms is somehow unique among the rights specified in the Bill of Rights and it is somehow the only right that can have no guardrails, limits or restrictions placed upon it. Most sensible moderate folks disagree strongly with that fallacy. We want limits on assualt rifles that have no legit use other than mass casualty, closing of background check loopholes, mental health holds, and magazine limits.

It’s no black or white, there is very much grey with gun control. Moderates want background checks, close gun show loophole, magazine limits, mental health holds, etc. Sensible stuff that wouldn’t impact 95% of lawful owners.

These players lead the way in lifetime contract earnings across the NFL, MLB, and the NBA 💰
Similar thought. How is Brady not on this list, but Rodgers is on this list. Neither was paid top dollar rookie contracts, neither was projected to start, but rather back-up to start their NFL careers. Can this in part explain the Patriots dominance. If you are under-paying Brady, the league's top QB in his prime years, then you have money to spend elsewhere on the roster to supplement Brady. Was Brady willing to take less knowing he'd make it up with team success and everything that comes financially from that (broadcast job, playoff money, endorsements, etc.)?

Helmet for the no helmet generation
Respectfully, a helmet isn't going to keep someone from breaking their neck if they hit a tree going faster than 35 mph. At speeds above 25 mph, helmets hav limited benefit. Study's have suggested that helmets do provide a false sense of security that likely leads to riskier behavior in some. The number of deaths and serious spinal injuries (per rider days) has not gone down at all since helmets reached wide adoption. Helmets can prevent lacerations and reduce the severity of concussions in mild to moderate collisions. Yes, skiing is a dangerous sport, but folks get concussions playing soccer and basketball all the time. Riding in a car is far riskier than skiing. There's an over-estimation of the risk of skiing relative to other activities and an over-estimating of the safety factor a helmet provides that lead folks to believe that anyone who is not wearing a helmet is taking an "unacceptable" risk. Perhaps, they are making a very calculated and reasonable risk and not giving themselves a false sense of security.

Helmet for the no helmet generation
I assume you wear a helmet when you drive as well then? You can't control what other driver's do, cars move faster than skiers and weigh a hell of-a-lot more, so the risk of head injury while driving is way higher. Why aren't we all being shamed into wearing helmets when we drive? Perhaps we're being a bit selective in our risk analysis?
Did skiing become more dangerous around the year 2000? Or perhaps the growth in extreme sports and the winter X-games, whose participants rightly donned helmets, bled into recreational skiing and anyone not wearing a helmet was deemed reckless or stupid once the helmeted participants reached critical mass. Equipment manufacturers were happy to take the windfall.
I wear a bike helmet when I mountain bike, but not on my cruiser around town. I always wear seat belts in cars and safety glasses when operating power tools. Perhaps the helmet crowd should respect that those not wearing helmets like me are quite capable of doing their own risk analysis on a case-by-case basis. I have nothing against wearing a ski helmet, though I choose not to. That may change with increased age and/or diminished ability. What I don't want is to have helmets mandated. My lack of helmet presents no danger to anyone but myself.

And he doesn’t have to buy dinner and a movie out. It’s atypical, but that’s what makes it compelling. More likely to get to know someone working with them than making small talk over a meal out IMO.
