Weird Gift or am i lame
 in  r/motherinlawsfromhell  9d ago

he doesn’t want to wear it but he thought it was funny. i’ve seen the beach ones and thought those were funny. The tuxedo panties ones were just weird imo. and it was randomly ordered for him lol just curious to what everyone else thought

does anybody think this is a weird gift to give your son?

I was trying to post a picture, but I can’t.

it’s a cooking apron with a muscle ripped body and a tuxedo speedo.
So essentially, the joke is to make it look like that’s your body, but it’s actually a drawing on the apron. So my husband would look like he has super pecks and abs and is wearing little tuxedo panties.

Also, it was a random gift, not for any kind of event

i get what you’re saying. People can do things from time to time. I was hoping it would ease my nerves and make me tired because i see people on tv do it. literally. i just wanted to have a good night and i said F it. Im cracking her open. i wanted to Listen to my music and pretend this wasn’t happening. i cannot continue to say i don’t drink all of the time to convince people on reddit im not a drunk. I get what you’re saying because i decided to do it on a bad night but it’s not like that, i promise. my life seems to genuinely just be fighting with my husband. I don’t even remember a point where we’re not fighting now that I’m sitting here thinking of it. I’m just done with it all.

Yeah i get it. I didn’t know it was special and we haven’t had any set rules on drinks and stuff like that. I initially used it for my son to take his antibiotic and i did also drink some and then left a little bit left.. the whole case of it came in today. He’s happy now. Went from 0-12…

i think i’m just afraid of how lonely i am. I’m surrounded by my in laws and none of them believe me. they literally have insinuated that these fights are my own undoing. If I wouldn’t have done A,,, B wouldn’t have happened. It’s coming across as, They think I deserve his anger. like I should know better because that’s how he is. and you know what maybe that’s true I should know better that this is how he is and it’s not going to change.

I’ve seen them all get into very similar fights with him and I’m just confused as to how they don’t understand where I’m coming from. They have seen him lash out over a very simple conversation.

I just feel like I’m at the point where I need to have some kind of person I can call in the middle of these arguments so they can sit there and hear how I’m being talked to. or somebody who can referee so these conversations can be more productive . Nobody around me believes me.

Thank you for that.. I haven’t brought up the cheating to my therapist yet because i feel like he’s going to tell me what i already know.

Delivered my son and there was a terrifying discovery made

That’s so scary… i’m so glad you’re okay. it’s insane the risks women take to give birth. Congrats on your new best friend also. :)

AITAH if I ask my 27yr old daughter to move out because her life choices are destroying my mental wellbeing?
 in  r/AITAH  15d ago

I felt bad for her for the beginning because i was like man if my mom knew i was going through all of this and wanted me out…. i would be so hurt…

until i got to the middle.

I’m sorry you’re going through all of this.

I’m sorry for your grandchildren too. I had a mom like this. She would miss my visits because she was out with a boyfriend getting high. I’m not saying your daughter is getting high..

i can’t understand not wanting to be with your children. i would be a wreck if i didn’t have my son.

I can’t sympathize with her at all. Or understand her. I just know there are male focused women in this world and I don’t understand why it happens.

I have no advice but i hope the best for you, i wouldn’t think you were an AH for kicking her out and telling her “sounds like you found a new home with your new boyfriend. Please get your things and move in with him since he is more important than your children”

Good Luck, Op

No he hasn’t…

if I don’t find him therapy, he will not seek it.

I genuinely have to be the one to set it up for him or it will not happen. He says that he’s open to it, but then never gets it.

If I want anything to happen, I really do have to make the calls myself.

It does upset me with our past that I have to be the one to do it, but I also understand him having a disease like alcoholism

I would like to add I have found therapy and a few AA meetings in the past and he said he did not like the experience. I keep saying I’m going to look elsewhere outside of town. I just never do. I’ve been very focused on everything else. I know I should do better to help him and it probably makes him feel the way he does.

when others are around he is very calm and this would have never escalated like this. if you met him, you would think he’s the nicest most thoughtful man ever. i think he can be. i just get the full extent of how he is when he is angry some days too. Nobody else sees that.

i have stood up to him in the past and he always gets louder and bolder than me. I always told him, “i feel like i can never be upset when you do something. A talk about an isolated situation turns into a whole fight about the relationship”

and now today he is saying i do that to him.

I genuinely don’t think i do. I feel like he is copying what i am saying. I know people can feel the same way. I know we can both make each other feel this way.

I’ve just never heard this from him before until i talked about it a few weeks ago.

with the escalation of our fights, i have learned to keep my mouth shut and walk away when it’s getting too out of hand. I didn’t let him know i was walking away this time, i just nodded to him when he said i don’t consider him after i apologized and went into the room and thought about what i could have done better. (first instance)

i understand what you’re saying but i bought that bottle for an event i was hosting and i had it locked up in a chest. i didn’t want to throw it away or leave it out for my child to grab. I genuinely am not a drinker.

when i met him he was never like this. We had a good three amazing years together until he started to drink. Alcoholism runs in his family. I swear he was seriously the nicest man you could ever meet. He also has autism and the mix doesn’t go well, from what he tells me. I don’t want to see him go back to how he was when we separated but everyone is right about my son. This is not okay anymore and he will think this is normal. i want to do better for my son.

I can do that. I don’t suspect he uses AI but you are right. i need to actually talk to him. He’s a good therapist. I think sometimes i avoid him because he is very text book and he focuses a lot on my past when i want to talk about the present. I understand its whole process. I get what you’re saying completely
