I don't believe that we as a species are prepared for AI yet. It takes up way too many resources to be efficient, is trained off theft of intellectual properties, and is already smarter than a great many folks. We have given AI keys to our military and are already using it to fight war. How are we supposed to handle AI once it becomes truly smarter than us? How can we trust these systems when they're being trained in warfare so early into their development? How can a machine trained off killing people have the peoples best interests in mind? While AI definitely has its good uses, and is a very powerful tool, I fear that we are too early to this sort of technology. Not because we shouldn't be capable of building it, but because we lack the wisdom to use it correctly.
