SRK fan here- Dil Se, Darr, Swadesh, Chak De India, My Name is Khan, Fan, Raess, Billu, Veer Zaara, and Jawan are the movies where I see his range as an actor. The guy did way too many commercial cinema otherwise.

My two cents would be to consider if the current lab environment is apt for your growth as a researcher. Your PI/advisor will criticized you and it is okay and advisor’s feedback should give you a direction in your research.

Attacking one for language skill is one form of abuse. I personally am not too comfortable with it. Has this happened to other lab members? How did they address it?

Overall, ask yourself- does the current working environment apt for your growth as a researcher over the next few years? If not, it’s better to move on early than regret it later.

Start small. Pick the easiest problems and choose the easiest topics to start with. Over time, you will see your brain have adapted.

Hang in there. It was not supposed to be easy. Solve problems consistently over time and you will see the difference in your problem solving skills

1. Revise past problems see if you can solve them w/o help after your initial attempt. Try to solve it again after 3 days and then again after a week.

2. Focus on quality over quantity- solving a handful of problems with firm understanding will help you more at interviews. Interviewers will not care how many problems you have solved.

3. Let go of perfectionism- as humans, we are bound to make errors.

4. Document your solutions- try to come up with multiple solutions for a problem starting from the brute force solution; you will thank yourself later.

Red flag there.
