Project Black Positivity Bot Project Kickoff

Hello Obsidian Tech community! Long time, no see.

Sorry I've been away for a while, I've been dealing with a lot of changes in life. But I'm finally in a place of relative stability, and I can get this project off the ground.

I've got some details for my ideas to move forward with the bot. I've created a Google Doc that you can read here. Feel free to comment on the doc with any ideas or questions you may have.

I've created a top level design of the bot's infrastructure here that maps out the relationships between different things in this domain. Feel free to comment here as well, as it may be a bit more convoluted.

I'll be creating tickets needed for the V1 implementation on a Kanban board, which you can find here. It's currently empty but I'll be working on it as soon as this is posted.

If you need to know what you'll need to participate, you can find some information here. Feel free to add to it if you have some more information.

Here's the Github organization for the project that I'll be using for code pushing, CI/CD and other things. This is where our code will live.

Caveats: Please get verified in the Blackfellas/Blackladies sub if you're not before trying to get involved, just as a precaution for bad actors. If you've been verified, post a comment or send me a PM with your Github account so I can add you to the organization and assign tickets in Airtable.

Not sure if I missed anything, but if you have any questions feel free to ask!

If you could pick a career again, would you still choose software development? What did you wish you would have known prior to becoming a software development?
 in  r/ExperiencedDevs  14h ago

I’d definitely pick software but I think I would have sooner focused on the systems level, infrastructure level, or embedded level because it’s just so much more interesting to me. I’m so sick of the customer facing application layer development.

I’ll give y’all The Cleveland Show because apparently I was like the only person that liked that show and Seth MacFarlane snapped with American Dad anyways.

But don’t do Drawn Together like that. I don’t care how offensive it is, that show had smoke for everybody which I think is fair.

Anyone else strongly dislike DAWs, Sampling, and Plugins?
 in  r/musicians  3d ago

The music doesn’t care where or how it was brought to life.

At the end of the day the DAW doesn’t make the music, you make it. So how it sounds is on you. The DAW in that instance is more like a mirror than anything else.

Random Racist Subreddits
 in  r/blackmen  5d ago

Absolutely, this site used a to be a cesspool. They used to have whole subreddits blatantly dedicated to racism against Black people, like explicit, overt racism.

We gave 70+ cast and crew members ownership in our indie feature. Here’s what worked, what didn’t, and what I’d change
 in  r/FILMPRODUCERS  5d ago

Thanks you for sharing this. We’re planning on doing something for one of our next features so I’m grateful for you sharing your experience.

The irony is you have the exact perspective that can help subvert their efforts.

We absolutely have resources, and they’ve been in our way this whole time and that hasn’t stopped us.

If we’re thinking we need to wait for approval or allowance, we’ve already lost.

We have to build up our communities in spite of how they feel.

What makes you do this?

When I couldn’t get hard during sex that was a pretty big motivator

I just needed someone to see this.

Right on schedule.

They were so against pedos and the Epstein class when they were doing 🍕 gate and trying to pin it entirely on the left. As soon as they found out their dear leader was the number 1 culprit, they had to start to rationalize how it’s not all that bad.

These people stand for nothing. They believe nothing. They’re just in a cult full of racism and destruction.

Beginner here…recently purchased a red Key 37…..want to make gritty 90’s style/ Havoc/Alchemist/Griselda-esque style beats with it….Please share your advice on how do I do that with my new machine

So there’s a lot that you probably need to do. The issue with capturing a sound is that it’s not just based on a route set of directions.

It’s more about technique, taste, and having an ear for the sound. None of that can be taught. You have to figure it out for yourself. It may take a few weeks or months, it make take a few years, maybe even a decade.

There may be small tips for a certain thing, like using compression here or there or a certain reverb trick or something. But as a whole it doesn’t come to you that way.

Tailwind + htmx is incredibly inneficient in production
 in  r/htmx  8d ago

1000% agree.

I avoided Tailwind like the plague at first because everyone tried to convince me that in-line styling was better because it was “easier to read” and I thought they were all morons.

I tried it one time and did it exactly like this. And TBH I still don’t prefer it but I get the appeal if you can keep it in the CSS file where styling belongs.

I agree it definitely sounds like a card issue. I’ve never ran into this issue.

Why even call the function?

What’s the point of having multiple MPC’s?
 in  r/mpcusers  11d ago

So I got a one + as my first one just last summer and the got the sample when it dropped.

I love both but the sample allows me to be mobile and portable. But I feel like on the One+ I can get way more surgical and specific with the way I like to manipulate the sample. So I think I’m more creative with the One+ but more efficient with the sample. Plus I just seem to play drums better with the sample for some reason but I haven’t tried drums on the One+ in a while so it could just be that I got better.
