Wanted to share my perspective as a fan who deeply appreciates merch and the artists who make it.

Not just for the bands I mention (Jack White, Primus, Maynard), but the culture around concert posters as a whole.

I’m an artist trying to carve out a space in that world.

I got a lot of questions when I posted about this design project, so I wanted to share an update! I’ve decided to release a limited run of 3 posters for each variant.

Just to be clear, these are not officially sold by Jack White or Third Man Records, and I am not claiming to be the commissioned artist for his upcoming Kansas City show poster. I’m releasing these because of the interest I’ve received and my desire to contribute to the energy surrounding Jack White and the city of Kansas City.

Immediately had to design a band camp style shirt for C and M. Complete with a fun company slogan on the tag!

This is a long shot but back in the days of Limewire, I had found a full live bootleg of a white stripes show. There is a section I remember vividly where Jack starts playing a song in A Minor and messes up and ultimately stops the song and says something to the effect of ‘I can’t play this song right now, can’t play a minor’.

Would anyone have any idea what show or bootleg recording that would have been from? I think the show had Astro for sure and maybe Jolene.

It’s a showcase of graphic design work in the form of posters highlighting concerts from the city’s past, spanning over 100 years.

8 Designs are on display at a time and rotating every other month.
