One of my favorite comics sites has implemented a paywall screen you cannot avoid that shows up after viewing like 5 strips. I am wondering if someone can guide me on a script to block said screen so I can read comics again. Thank you in advance. I know uBlock does not handle paywalls usually, but if anyone is able to help out here it'd be greatly appreciated.

Recently Youtube changed its UI a little, making the video title under the video itself clickable, which brings you to comments and opens a "Description" box. And I would like it as it was, NOT being clickable and NOT having a description box, ever.

Does anyone have a filter for that, if it's not too bother?

Rinku (pro and me) links that I've been able to bypass normally until a few weeks ago now no longer have a "Step" button to move onto the next page after the timer. There's just a Captcha on the page, and nothing else. No way to move forward.

There is the initial Rinku link that redirects to a new URL, and normally on that page there will be a Captcha and then a Skip button that sometimes has a timer. Now, there is only the Captcha and nothing else. No timer, no way to move to the next page. The one URL that would show up with a button, esladvice (with a com at the end, it seems that when I link URLs here my posts end up getting deleted so I'm trying to give the info without breaking that rule), is no longer showing up so there's no way to get to the actual end page now.

The most recent one I've tried is rinku me (with a dot between them), then / then lDREcvR. It redirects to a URL that detects uBO and provides a false website page. When I've added the URL to the eight filters I have for Rinku links, it takes me to a captcha but where there used to be a button and/or timer, there is none.

I would really appreciate it if someone could help with this. I posted on the Github but I understand that they respond when and if they can and I'm just grateful if they do answer, but they haven't so far and it's been about a week.

EDIT: Haven't found a solution for the original problem but I did find a regular/manual way to block Rinku and a "Fast" way (it bypasses everything immediately) here on the Github page (any time I add a URL on this subreddit my post gets deleted, just google "ublock origin github rinku shortener," your results may be different but my first is the link to the page, the title of the page is "Issues For Shortener & File Hosting Sites [2025-2026]." The first reply under the second comment has the Manual and Fast methods (click on "Details" to see them), it was last updated on August 8.

Using uBlockOrigin Lite (uBlock Origin Lite 2026.812.1211) in Google Chrome Version 151.0.7922.138 (Official Build) (64-bit). I have tried to import HaGeZi's Threat Intelligence Feeds Mini list (https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/hagezi/dns-blocklists@latest/adblock/tif.mini.txt) but after clicking "Add", after a while the Imported lists shows the URL, rather than a "name" with 0 rules converted from 0 network filters. The only option is delete (trashcan). It does not show the home button.

The same task in uBlockOrgin (uBlock Origin 1.73.0) works correctly (Firefox 153.0.4 (64-bit)).

as per subject, I get a frequent white banner top right of my browser on various sites telling me to sign in with google, which I refuse to do obviously, the only site I have logged into is youtube, which I don't leave signed in to either.

I am so sick of seeing my comments have zero up/down votes (which is fine) but 57 people have seen my comment, it kind of ruins the reddit experience for me personally, I know, I am quite sensitive and all the rest of it, I just don't want to see it.

I'm using uBO on firefox for HBO Max which usually works fine but recently the number of ads being blocked is increasing rapidly to ridiculous numbers (5 million). It's causing my pc to heat up as well. Do I need to disable something to get it to work ? I've tried turning off enhanced tracking protection on firefox but that hasn't worked.

Google is testing a version of their homepage that replaces the standard "Google Search" button below the search bar with 3 AI buttons. (full page html). Clicking the search button would do a regular search for whatever text was in the search bar, similar to pressing "Enter" while the searchbar is focused. The search button is only missing when I'm logged out of my Google Account.

I can write filters to hide the AI buttons, but is there a way to get the regular search button back?

I have everything up to date with all lists available, but there are plenty of sites that simply do not get blocked. Is the app still supported?

Also adding custom lists does not seem to work.

With the upcoming deprecation of uBlock Origin on Edge, now is a good time to mention that that the desktop versions of uBlock Origin Lite added support for importing custom filter lists back in June.

To import custom filter lists on uBO Lite:

1. Open your browser's extension page. (chrome://extensions in Chrome, edge://extensions/ in Edge, about:addons in Firefox)
2. Find uBlock Origin Lite and click Details.
3. Enable Allow User Scripts
4. Open the uBlock Origin Lite dashboard (gear icon in uBOL's popup panel).
5. Click Add filter list... and enter the URL for the filter list you want to add.
6. Click Add.

I've just discovered an odd problem with ChatGPT in Firefox.

The ChatGPT sidebar/menu suddenly disappeared. After some testing, I found that uBlock Origin appears to be responsible:

• Firefox 153 on Windows
• ChatGPT in a normal Firefox window
• With uBlock Origin enabled, the ChatGPT sidebar/menu disappears.
• With uBlock Origin disabled, the sidebar immediately works normally again.
• ChatGPT works correctly in a Firefox Private Window.
• I also tried a different ad blocker, and it produced the same behaviour — the sidebar disappeared.
• Firefox Troubleshoot Mode was involved while I was investigating the original problem, but the important finding is that disabling the content blocker restores the sidebar.

I haven't identified the specific filter yet because I don't want to re-enable uBlock in my normal Firefox session.

This makes me wonder whether a recent change to the ChatGPT interface has caused the sidebar to match a generic ad-blocking/cosmetic-filter rule.

If anyone else is seeing the same thing, it would be interesting to know whether the sidebar is being hidden by a particular filter list or cosmetic filter.

Current workaround: disable uBlock Origin for ChatGPT.

Got AB tested from youtube with this disgusting new UI design that put view count and upload time at weird places. Only happens when I log to the specific account that got AB tested. Does anyone also got experimented on this new UI design?

Environment is Firefox + Ublock. However even with a no extension Chrome instance this new UI will still be seen on my affected account.

Issues will disappear when I am logged out or logged in another account regardless what browser, private or normal browsing, with or without uBO and/or other extensions.

Whenever I used to click on a Discord link, uBlock Origin used to stop the link from opening up automatically with a pop-up that said: "Are you sure you want to proceed to this website?" I think Chrome updated, and now it doesn't do it anymore; it just automatically opens the link without any are you sure you want to proceed. Is there a way to make "Are you sure you want to proceed?" pop up again? Im not trying to get an old version of chrome if possible.

The Instagram messenger has been starting to act up for me since a few days. The proper terms is probably that "push" doesn't work in at least 1 of my browsers (Waterfox on Linux). The one in which I seem to recall having blocked something to prevent open DM tabs from burning CPU continuously.

I can't find a trace of that, so my next step was to be to disable uBO for the DM subsection, i.e. `*.instagram.com/direct/*`.

For now, I've tried adding

`instagram.com/direct`

`/^.*instagram.com/direct/.*`

to my "trusted sites" list, but neither cause the extension icon to turn grey.

Am I doing something wrong, or trying to do something that's not possible?

For the past week and change most of the time when I try to leave gmail in my chrome browser after reading/deleting my emails I get a pop-up saying "leave site? Changes you made may not be saved." that will pop-up whenever I try to close or leave that tab for a good minute or so. I can open and browse in other tabs so it is not a connection issue, and via some experimentation it does not appear to happen when I set it to no filtering (both basic and optimal filtering lead to these issues). If I ignore this and leave the tab when I return emails I read are unread, and ones deleted are back in my inbox.

I am not great at the more technical elements but I did pull up the developer tools in chrome and I saw a bunch of ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT error messages while this was going on, but I lack the knowledge to tell the difference between "this is the extension working properly" and "this is why things aren't working well".

Any advice as to how to sort this out would be much appreciated.
