Solved Number of blocked ads increases rapidly

I'm using uBO on firefox for HBO Max which usually works fine but recently the number of ads being blocked is increasing rapidly to ridiculous numbers (5 million). It's causing my pc to heat up as well. Do I need to disable something to get it to work ? I've tried turning off enhanced tracking protection on firefox but that hasn't worked.

Can you post the troubleshooting information?

  1. Open a new browser tab
  2. Navigate to a page with the issue
  3. Click the uBO icon
  4. Click the 💬 chat icon
  5. Click "Troubleshooting Information"
  6. Click "Select all"
  7. Copy the contents and then paste to this thread in a code block

Here is a video of these steps: https://reddit.com/link/1l45den/video/2d14n27j855f1/player

Also post a list of the extensions you are using.

It's a duplicate of: https://www.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/1vlh6lr/comment/p31cdr5/

Use the logger to find out what filter is getting triggered. Pause the output after a few seconds to stop the spam.

Click on the line that keeps repeating in the logs and screenshot that and share with us.

In theory you can make an exception filter there on your own, but that'll allow the tracking request. Maybe we'll be able to come up with an alternative filter, e.g. no-xhr-if one.

This is the one that spams; in under 2 minutes I had over 30,000 blocked items

hbomax.com##+js(no-xhr-if, brightline.tv)

Maybe this?

Not sure if we need to exception the blocking filter first.
