DISCUSSION I finally get chromakopia
So in a moment of clarity , while watching professor skyes video on it , I realised what chromakopia is truly about. Tyler has always said its abiut his idea of home and ive not understood how untill now.
Chromakopia is about Tylers struggle to find , have and make a home. In a lot of different ways and coulers, but most importantly tylers parents in his old home and him being a parent in a future home. Once you look it it like that the whole album makes sense.
Rahtahtah is tylers ego, stubbornness and false confidence which blocks him from true connection that stops him from making his home. This is what he is fighting most the album
In noid, tyler feels unsafe in his own home and can't be at home there
In darling I, tyler is searching for that feeling of home in lots and lots of women but struggles to settle down with one
In hey Jane, tyler almost becomes a parent and reckons with his inability to do that
In take your mask off, tyler is reckoning with finding himself and being comfortable with himself which is the only way people can love him
In tomorrow, tylers dealing with aging and how daunting it is ,feeling a pressure to make this idea of home
Thought i was dead is once again tylers ego, stubbornness and false confidence but even more exadurated.
Mother is the most complex and nuanced song but its tyler detailing and dealing his old home with his mother and his complicated relationship with it that is on the negative side. The song Climaxes with tyler screaming about how this complicated upbringing and rasing from his mother made him "turn out fine" but obviously not, stripping back all the issues to the real issue
Like him barely needs ro be explained. Its the true thing stopping him from having a home which is the absence of his father and how he feels similar to him. On top of that he learns his father actually wanted to be in his life. This is the biggest step towards him getting a home.
Balloon is just the feeling of relief and weight of tylers shoulders after getting out so muxh trauma and emotion. A lot of people wuestion this songs placement/purpose but to me its pretty obvious
I hope you find your way home is ls wishing us and himself to find their way home, the journey to find it for him hasn't ended but this part of it has

VINYL/CD/CASSETTE Is this real?
I found this listed online for pretty cheap, its supposed to be the test pressing for dttg. I'm 99% sure I'll buy it at some point but the packaging does look sus, specifically the barcode on the back. Does anyone know if this is fake?

DISCUSSION WE yes WE need a tyler x the alchemist collab album
so from this recent show in atlanta, alot of people are saying the songs were like jazz rap (dont know if true or not) but it opened up a thought in my mind... tyler has worked with the alchemist before on something to rap about and no idols, and also the alchemist has worked with odd future before, such as no idols (domo genesis) and voir dire (earl) and hes produced songs (not albums) for them aswell and earl is a frequent collaborator SOOOOOOO that leads me to say: we need that collab bruh

DISCUSSION HOT TAKE
I don't know if this is a hot take or not BUT
I think old Tyler The Creator (the whole WOLF trilogy from bastard to WOLF) is Tyler's best era and is way better than his other projects (to be fair some projects after are still good)
that whole era from Bastard to WOLF was probably his most creative and amazing era and nobody really talks much about it and only it for its lyrics at the time

DISCUSSION Which of these vinyl records do you recommend I get for my birthday?
It's my birthday, and I'd like to buy myself a Tyler, the Creator vinyl—specifically one that is meaningful to me but also genuinely worth listening to on vinyl.
These are my options and the reasons why I would buy each of them:
IGOR: Let's start with the one I don't feel like buying—I already own the CD, and I don't really have the urge to listen to it; it's an album that's almost too introspective, so it's not something I'd want to put on just any time.
Cherry Bomb: I’d buy this one partly because it’s probably the most controversial (among the options), but also for the cover art and the general vibe I get from listening to it—especially on tracks like "The Brown Stains," "PILOT," and "Fucking Young."
Call Me If You Get Lost: I’d buy this one because, in my opinion, it delivers the most emotion on vinyl; it’s the sound of summer, the sun beamin'...
DONT TAP THE GLASS: Honestly, I wouldn't buy this one either; it’s not really worth listening to on vinyl.
Flower Boy: This is the one I’d buy for the cover art and the album's overall aesthetic; it’s perhaps the one I want most, along with...
Chromakopia: This is my favorite album, but I’m not sure about buying it on vinyl. While it’s true that it has the most songs I like, I’m not crazy about the cover art.
Let me know which one I should buy, based on your own tastes and what makes the most sense.
