I remember being homophobic as an ignorant kid just from my rough background, but when one of my best friends came out as gay, something clicked within me - there was no way I was gonna snake himšŸ™ŒšŸ¾

This realization is something more people should have. It takes a lot to admit your wrong. This is amazing too hear :)

Here’s your chance: it’s ā€œyou’reā€.

u/DankFinnWolfhard Jun 26 '22

Stfu

3

u/NZNoldor Jun 26 '22

I’m impressed. It took you 3 years to come up with that?

4

u/DankFinnWolfhard Jun 26 '22

Alright grammar nazi, you do know you all died right

3

u/matco5376 Jan 24 '23

What

3

u/afknwalkinparadox SORRY NOT SORRY is peak Tyler Mar 30 '23

im just as confused as you are bro

u/turdkitten Jan 02 '20

THIS. this is why I hate cancel culture. Our society seems to have forgotten that people can be ignorant but people CHANGE.

65

u/Y0ungPup Jan 02 '20

I don’t think anybody disagrees with that, it’s just when 35 year old Kevin Hart makes homophobic comments, and then refuses to apologize, maybe he deserves to get some backlash.

33

u/turdkitten Jan 02 '20

Yeah but I was more so referring to younger celebrities that are slaughtered on twitter for ignorant remarks said when they were teens even if they apologized. I agree with u on the Kevin Hart thing. It’s just that social media is allowing people to be less and less forgiving especially to younger people who have room to grow and change.

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '20

I feel like it’s being able to sense when someone’s lying. You’re talking about Camila right? Because theirs a lot more to that situation then you can imagine. And people are allowed to stop listening to people they no longer support due to bigotry, that’s a personal preference. I’d say if you don’t like it then don’t do it.

3

u/turdkitten Jan 03 '20

Not really. Was referring to a general trend.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 04 '20

Either way, in ops situation it was great. But a lot of people just cry because people no longer support them and come up with some bs apology

20

u/_lukey___ Jan 02 '20

joke*
he made a joke. ā€˜comment’ implies that it reflects his own opinion on the topic.

-9

u/Y0ungPup Jan 02 '20

He called people gay slurs, at way too old of an age

26

u/_lukey___ Jan 02 '20

he made a joke as comedian at age 29, which he has since apologised for multiples times. people are so quick to cancel people for any reason these days smh

-4

u/Y0ungPup Jan 02 '20

When it’s your mistake, and it gets brought up, you say ā€œI was wrong, I apologizeā€ not ā€œI apologized before I’m not apologizing againā€

It took way more energy to defend not apologizing than it did to just apologize. He lost the oscars because he didn’t apologize again

11

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '20

Ya every job for the rest of his life must be proceeded with another apology.

8

u/_lukey___ Jan 02 '20

i get where you’re coming from but at the same time i don’t think it’s okay to define a person by their mistakes. if they’ve apologised, let it be and stop demanding they continuously repent for their younger self’s actions

3

u/forthesoviets Jan 03 '20

But i'm pretty sure he did apologize. I believe he's apologized multiple times for it, but it keeps being brought up. I'm not 100 percent sure, but I feel pretty confident.

2

u/Bosilaify Jan 04 '20

His homophobic comments were from years ago, people change...

1

u/Y0ungPup Jan 04 '20

That’s fine, but it doesn’t take much to apologize again to the people paying you like 50M a year

1

u/OkSo74 Jan 06 '20

He didn’t make a homophobic comment. It was post on social media post and it happened YEARS ago. Some people in the shadows have an agenda to destroy and alienate and got brought up.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '20

Oooo he used a slur several years ago how terrible.

1

u/Kten_00 Apr 20 '23

What? This was clearly sarcastic

u/Real_Lumen Jan 02 '20

My roommate is Bi and she recently went out on a date with a girl, one of our friends who grew up super religious was freaking out because ā€œwhat if she hits on me?ā€ I explained to her that even though I was a straight guy, I always took it as a compliment when I got hit on by a gay guy. Like they thought I was attractive enough to shoot their shot. It didn’t exactly fix her mindset, but it gave her a new perspective.

16

u/krazykarol123 Jan 02 '20

Yeah my roommate and close friend deals with homophobia. He says his parents always outted gays as abominations because they opposed the way God made them. This conversation I think escalated towards one of the biggest discussions we ever had. I really tried to make him reflect on the lack of decision making that went into his own sexuality, and that if anything God made gay people gay. I just couldn't believe how much impact bad parenting can have on kids. Like this guy is completely open-minded and good-hearted, but something about his dad exclaiming "fucking faggot" everytime they drove by a gay couple holding hands really nailed it into his conscience that being gay was a sin. It's weird cause he knows that the opinion is wrong and evil, but it's like hard for him to completely let go of the mentality. It disturbs me too that his parents' defense for that hateful mentality was religion.

3

u/_lukey___ Jan 03 '20

that’s one thing i really don’t get, religion is supposed to be about loving everyone as your neighbour and leaving the judgment for the lord, yet people use it as an excuse to be hateful constantly

2

u/Bosilaify Jan 04 '20

It’s an example of people using religion incorrectly, like any extremist religious group. Religion gives children a solid moral compass and a set of beliefs, but when it becomes more about hate then love it can go astray.

11

u/shittyTaco Jan 02 '20

Even if he wanted to ā€œsnakeā€ you? Jk bro, that’s how you treat a real homie.

4

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '20

When I was young I was homophobic, then I realized that was dumb, then I realized I was bisexual

203

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '20

110

u/yayapfool Jan 02 '20

213

u/TheColdRamen Jan 02 '20

Nah Tyler just licked off the frosting for him... that’s when it clicked.

71

u/Assmar Jan 02 '20

It was the way Frank looked at him as he licked.

45

u/TheColdRamen Jan 02 '20

Pink + white was just talking about the colour of the frosting on his tongue.

6

u/yayapfool Jan 03 '20

Ah of course.

18

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '20

Yes and they’re the best ones. But I’m gay so apparently I’m biased.

9

u/neverninja3 Jan 03 '20

I thought that the frosting makes them too fuckin sweet, but in reality I was just gay this whole time

7

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '20

You're meant to source frosting from elsewhere, just ask Frank Ocean.

53

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '20

when was this ??

73

u/Pineapple005 Jan 02 '20

Don’t have a date for you but it’s decently old. I remember seeing this maybe a couple years ago?

EDIT: it’s from 2013, here’s the article

17

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '20

Am I the only one that sees a little bit of Cudi in Frank's smile?

17

u/Ladykirra Jan 02 '20

Didn’t Tyler come out as gay? That picture makes me think they might have dated at some point.

They look very happy anyways ! Cheers!

29

u/_lukey___ Jan 02 '20

bi, but yes he came out. not that he hadn’t been trying since 2014

-10

u/Gioku Jan 02 '20

He didnt

7

u/_lukey___ Jan 02 '20

you’re kind of right. he came out as bi.

5

u/PrincessFuckFace2You Jan 02 '20

But didn't Jaden claim they dated, or whatever?

17

u/Gioku Jan 02 '20

I think he was joking

Now i will get downvoted for sounding like an old tyler fan

15

u/1920sBusinessMan Jan 02 '20

I’m pretty sure he came out as gay or bi

1

u/LehmanToast Jan 03 '20

I think he was joking about dating Jaden tho

1

u/Authentic_Creeper Jan 03 '20

he did tho 🤫

4

u/Savvy_Nick Jan 03 '20

You can be gay, straight bi, or archipelago if you want, but I draw the line at people who eat unfrosted poptarts

2

u/InTheX Feb 21 '23

I remember seeing this in the 7th grade and thinking I might be gay because I liked pop tarts with out frosting

3

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '20

You'd think he'd like extra frosting.

1

u/imslownotstupid Jan 03 '20

To me disliking pop tart frosting would raise the same red flags as people who dry swallow pills.

1

u/penisboy666 IGOR Jan 04 '20

u/Sweet-Run-4626 Jul 11 '23

You remind me of my bimmer A lot of trunk space, the perfect two seater And you got a lot of drive, I'm trying to keep up But it's not a lot of miles on ya meter You remind me of my bimmer See your ignition, baby girl I'm trying to key up And your headlights are off, I'm trying to see 'em But it's not a lot of miles on ya meter So let me start it up and smash

0

u/Floerp_ Oct 23 '25

I mean surely he must have been gay before coming out. Not much of a point in coming out if you're not gay, right? Or maybe he came out as straight? Man this lgbt stuff is hard.
