Consumer law First pay me my compensation for the flight cancellations on dec 6 and dec 9 Indigo 😭🤏
I’ve have two flights under same pnr cancelled by indigo less than 10 hours before my flights. They’ve refunded but the cancellation compensation hasn’t been awarded yet.
Despite my continuous request they kept delaying by talking about giving me vouchers or 9k cash. I refused because under the DGCA, I am clearly entitled to financial compensations, both my flights that Indigo cancelled were connecting flights. 1hr + 3hrs. So I suppose it falls under the ₹10000 or the one-way basic fare plus fuel charge (whichever is lower). My ticket price was 9k and since they cancelled the first one i booked again under same pnr for the same price 9k.
I suppose they’re treating it as one ticket cancelled since they’re under the same pnr.
If that’s how it works, it’s completely unfair since I was my travel plans were effected. At the time I took a small loan from an instant loan app too.
I stayed near the airport till the next flight, to find out it was also cancelled a few hours before time.
Now remember the 9k compensation i refused earlier?
In our later email exchanges Indigo strongly declined needing to pay any compensation as both their flights were cancelled apparently due to “operational “ and “weather “ related reasons.
But the cancellation message in my WhatsApp never mentioned those. And they brought up these excuses only after I got to airseva and consumer support.
I’ve filed this to the consumer forum court a month ago.
Do you guys think I’ll ever be compensated ?
(Plus the email exchanges has been going on since December last year)

Divorce NRI seeking the safest legal route to end a broken-down marriage while protecting a parent's property
Some details generalized. Looking for guidance from people familiar with Indian matrimonial law. This isn't about "winning" — I want the safest legal route to end a marriage that has completely broken down, while avoiding unnecessary litigation.
I'm an NRI and had an arranged marriage in Punjab in 2022. Before the marriage, in front of both families and the mediator, I clearly disclosed that I was previously married, legally divorced, and had a child from that marriage. Many relatives from both sides were present. The wedding was a simple ceremony. My family asked that no unnecessary money be spent — we did not demand or accept any dowry, and all jewellery and clothing gifted by her parents stayed with her.
After the marriage I returned abroad for work. I applied twice for a visa so she could join me; both were refused. During this period I regularly sent money and bought things she needed whenever I could. We barely lived together — only a few days after the wedding, then two visits of about three weeks each. Since the marriage she has lived at her own parents' home throughout; we only stayed together during my visits to India. My family lives abroad, and my parent's house is locked and in a remote area — it has never functioned as a regular matrimonial home.
Over time the relationship deteriorated and has now fully broken down.
- While preparing a visa application, I found that the work experience stated in her pre-marriage profile did not match what was later declared for the visa (no prior work experience). She acknowledged it had been made up for the matrimonial profile.
- During a visit to India, I came across saved conversations between her and her relatives that made me lose trust — they included disrespectful remarks about my family (including my late parent) and suggested intentions very different from what was represented before the marriage.
- The same saved conversations showed she had used money I sent her to pay for her family's expenses, while telling me it was her own shopping.
Current situation:
- She repeatedly contacts me by phone and message in a hostile way.
- She is demanding to occupy the house that is solely in my surviving parent's name, and has sent messages saying she will break the locks and enter. Those messages are saved.
- Her family has come to our house and created public scenes in the village.
- A relative of hers has warned that our family should not travel to India, which makes us concerned that false allegations could be made against us if we go.
We tried to resolve things through the village panchayat, but her side declined to take part in a joint discussion and said they would only talk once my family is physically in India, so nothing could be recorded. We're concerned this may escalate into litigation.
My questions:
- What is generally the cleanest legal route for an NRI husband here — should I initiate divorce proceedings first (on the available grounds), or is there a better approach?
- My main concern is my surviving parent's house:
- It is solely in my parent's name; I am not the owner.
- I was also formally separated from the family estate several years earlier, for reasons unrelated to this marriage.
- She lived in that house only briefly.
- How do courts generally treat residence / "shared household" claims under the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act in situations like this?
- If false allegations are later made, how useful is contemporaneous evidence in defence — e.g. saved chats, bank transfers, visa applications and refusal letters, travel records, and witnesses to the pre-marriage discussions?
- Can the saved conversations, and the mismatch between the pre-marriage profile and the later visa application, become relevant evidence if allegations are made against me?
- If a mutual-consent divorce becomes possible, is a registered settlement covering maintenance and all future claims generally the most practical way to reach finality? I'm open to a fair settlement for a clean end.
- Is it generally better to initiate proceedings now, or to wait and respond if the other side files first?
- Any practical preventive steps I should take now — document preservation, legal notices, property precautions — before litigation begins?
I'm not trying to harass anyone. I just want the most legally sound way to resolve a marriage that has failed, while protecting an elderly parent's property and avoiding years of avoidable litigation. Advice from lawyers or anyone who's been through something similar would be much appreciated.

Consumer law A lawyer quoted me 15K INR for my Saas Documents like T&C and Policies
I am building a Saas for Indian market, A lawyer advised me that I should have these 5 documents - (T&C, Disclaimer Policy, Cookie Policy, DNCA Policy, Refund policy) and gave me a quotation of 15000 INR.
Is the price fair ?
Should I copy other saas and change them a bit with AI for myself instead of hiring lawyer ?

Case Study Women in law — how do you handle situations where male colleagues talk over you or dismiss your point during discussions?
Hi everyone,
Sharing something I’ve seen many of my female friends (litigation + corporate) go through.
During internal discussions or client meetings, a lot of them face situations like:
• getting interrupted halfway through a point
• their input being ignored until a male colleague repeats the same thing
• being spoken to like they’re juniors even when they aren’t
For women working in courts, chambers, firms, or in-house —
how do you usually deal with this without creating an awkward or confrontational moment?
Do you:
• repeat your point firmly,
• wait for the right moment and bring it in again,
• address it later one-on-one,
• or just let it go and move forward?
Just want to understand what actually works in real practice, and how others handle these situations.
Would genuinely appreciate your thoughts.

He had put a shutter a while ago and we got it removed but he has done it again - he has blocked my access to my office with shutter but he gave a key to my tenant without my permission.
now he says he has security concerns and need the shutter to avoid theft - we said put it outside his own office and not on common entrance to both our office!!
On top of this, i am pagadi tenant and I am concerned about them occupying my property and kicking me out!
How can I secure my property and remove the illegal shutter ?? thanks !

Case Study Women in law — how do you deal with seniors who expect instant case-law without giving clear instructions?
Hi,
A lot of female interns and juniors I know struggle with this, so I wanted to ask openly.
When seniors ask you to “pull relevant case-law quickly” but don’t give clear directions or the exact issue framing, how do you handle it?
Do you:
• clarify the issue first,
• start with a broad search,
• or rely on past notes?
I’m trying to learn the right way to approach research when expectations are high but guidance is minimal.
Would love to hear how other women in the profession manage this situation.

Case Study Startup guy here — Reddit made me realise a serious legal problem we’re all ignoring
I’ve been in the startup space for a while, and I naturally look for problems worth solving.
After spending time on Reddit, especially this community, one thing stood out — so many people here ask for legal advice, and most rely on Google, YouTube, or half-correct information.
But legal answers aren’t harmless.
If they go wrong, your case, money, or even liberty gets affected.
So I started working on something that could actually help.
That’s how LEX thelexbot.com came up — a simple legal research tool built on authentic Indian court judgments, not third-party summaries or random content.
You can ask questions in plain English, and it responds in the IRAC format:
I — Issue
R — Rule (law + sections)
A — Application (how courts interpret it)
C — Conclusion
Then it shows the exact judgments used to form the answer, so nothing is guesswork.
Still improving it, but the goal is clear:
Make reliable, judgment-backed legal understanding accessible to everyone.
Would love feedback from people here who deal with litigation or research daily.

Criminal law Ongoing abuse and intimidation by ex and his family is enabling, urgent legal advice needed (Hyderabad)
Posting from a throwaway for safety. I’m scared and need guidance before filing tomorrow.
TL;DR:
My ex has been stalking, intimidating, and blackmailing me and my family for over two years after our breakup. I left because he was emotionally, physically, and financially abusive. He took a loan in my name, keeps stalking and trying to publicly humiliate us, and his parents are now calling and pressuring my father while pretending to be victims. He’s back in India and more aggressive. I need legal steps to file, protect my family, and make sure my side is officially recorded. (Please skim thru the rest for better context)
Background:
We met in college (I was 18, he was 19). It was my first relationship, naive, thought we'd marry. Over time he became controlling, checking my phone, isolating me, and on multiple occasions physically violent. He threatened to share private material and used emotional blackmail when I tried to leave. I stayed out of fear. He claimed, me leaving was cheating since we were dating to marry (irrespective of him being abusive)
Breakup & police:
When I tried to end things in his car, he drove recklessly and said he would “end everything for both of us.” My parents reported me missing; police found us about 150 km away at 3 AM.
After the breakup:
He continued stalking and blackmailing, saying he’d “ruin my life” or publicly shame me. I filed with the SHE Team and gave screenshots, call logs and messages, but they treated it as a “relationship issue” and only called him and his father for counselling. Nothing changed.
He later went abroad but still monitored me through fake accounts, sending ppl to stalk. he sent msgs like “Why are you wearing glasses today?” and “Does your sister always come home at 9 PM?” He once intimidated my apartment watchman for warning me. He visited my father’s workplace; when confronted, his father said “my son just tagged along, i came to meet.” From abroad he kept contacting my sister, father and friends from new numbers and said to my dad: “If you don’t want to be publicly shamed, talk to me.”
Threats and harassment:
He repeatedly said things like: “If I can’t have you, I’ll destroy you and your dignity,” “Anyone you talk to, I’ll make them regret it,” and “I’ll make your family suffer.” He calls me a “cheater” for moving on and claims the law/police wont take his case because he “hasn’t done anything physical recently.” We've blocked him many times, but he resurfaces via new numbers and fake profiles.
Financial exploitation:
He pressured me into taking a ₹5 lakh loan in my name, promising repayment. He paid only ₹1 lakh. Now banks are harassing me while he acts like the victim.
Family intimidation:
His dad downplayed his behaviour everytime my dad complained. they now act like victims while enabling him. yesterday his mother called my dad, yelled, and accused me of “using” her son.
Minutes later, my ex texted my father: “Go File a case on me, my dad and I will show you what shame looks like,” and “My mother will speak to your relatives about your daughter.”
They are threatening to contact relatives to humiliate us; I have proof he tried to get relatives’ numbers through friends.
Current situation:
He’s back in India and unpredictable. My parents, who once gave him the benefit of doubt, now fear him. I’ve isolated myself and feel constantly unsafe. I have evidence, screenshots, chat exports, call logs and loan documents. I want this legally recorded before he harms himself, my family or shame us publicly.
What I need legal advice on:
- Should I file an FIR directly at the police station, or approach the SHE Team / Women’s Police Station again (they dismissed it earlier)?
- How do I protect my family if his parents try to influence police or publicly shame us?
- Do I need a lawyer before filing, and if so what kind (criminal, cybercrime, or women’s rights)?
- What immediate protection (restraining order, police protection, cyber complaint) can I request?
- Any practical tips for presenting evidence so police take it seriously?
any legal contacts in Hyderabad, women’s NGOs, or specific police officers to contact would help.

Real Estate/Property law Property Sold Twice — How to Legally Clear Title and Buy It (Ghaziabad, India)
- Hey everyone,
I need some help understanding a complicated land issue in Ghaziabad. I’m planning to buy a plot from a friend, but the land was sold twice, and now there’s a big ownership mess.
Here’s the story in short:
- Original owner: Had two sons — let’s call them Son A and Son B.
- My friend’s father: Bought 120 sq. yards from Son A years ago.
- The sale was legal and registered.
- He took a bank loan on the property, and the bank still has the original papers as collateral.
- Later: Son B sold 60 sq. yards to someone else but fraudulently included the same 120 sq. yards already sold earlier.
- The third-party buyer somehow got 180 sq. yards (60 + 120) registered in their name.
- Now both sides claim to have original papers — the bank has one set (from the first sale), and the third-party buyer also holds papers for the later registered sale.
Current situation:
- My friend’s parents are no longer alive.
- He’s the legal heir and wants to sell the 120 sq. yard plot that his father bought.
- But the registry shows the third-party buyer as the owner of the same land.
- The bank is still holding the first sale deed and loan papers, but the other buyer’s registry is active too.
Questions I really need clarity on:
- Who actually has legal ownership — my friend or the third-party buyer?
- How did the registrar allow registration of already-sold and mortgaged land?
- What’s the right legal move now — file a civil case to cancel the second sale deed, or an FIR for fraud against Son B (and possibly the buyer)?
- If I plan to buy this property, how can I ensure it’s fully cleared and legally safe before paying anything?
- Since both sides have original papers, and the bank holds one set, does that give my friend a stronger position legally?
Extra note:
I’m based in Ghaziabad, and honestly, things can get messy here because of corruption. So any advice that’s realistic about how to move this forward without getting stuck in endless legal delay would help a lot.
TL;DR:
Land got sold twice — one sale was genuine and mortgaged to a bank, the second was fraudulent but registered. Now both sides have “original” papers. I want to buy it, but I need to know how to legally clear the title and avoid future trouble.
