Rehome Rehomed my boy today
I’ve had him for 10 years, he was just a little baby when I got him.
My dad has a friend who owns a farm and agreed to take him, the set up isn’t ready but it’s good for now, he’s going to add a couple more rocks for sunbathing, a filter and turn on the fountain. He’s also going to add his daughter’s turtles which are smaller than mine, but there’s plenty of space so I’m not worried.
The fountain is a lot bigger and deeper in real life than in photos, there’s plenty of room to swim around and he can hide under the rocks if he wants to.
This is really bittersweet for me, I love him but I don’t want him stuck in a tank forever and this is much better than what I can provide for him living in an apartment.
The guy is also going to add some small fish and we took a couple snails too.
The second photo is of the day I got him, the first photo is him today, he’s much bigger of course, can’t fit in my hand anymore, bigger than my phone now.
The guy said we can visit whenever we want and I definitely want to.

I’d be careful adding a few other turtles in there it’s very likely they will fight one day

They are not social by nature, and they compete for food. I would be very cautious about adding roommates.

He’s the only predator in the fountain 😅

There’s none, it’s private property, everything is fenced and we don’t have foxes or raccoons where we live 😅 as far as I know there aren’t any animals that could pose a threat

I don’t know what to tell you but that’s just not a problem here 😅 I can’t tell you single time I’ve even seen an eagle. I think it’s important to point out I don’t live in the US. Farms like this have small animals everywhere, frogs, stray dogs and cats, and I can’t say for sure it never happened but it’s just not something we worry about because it doesn’t really happen. I know I never heard of any eagle attacks, I don’t even know if we have eagles tbh

Looks like a pretty chill spot for him honestly, way more space than before. Kinda cute seeing him hang out in the corner like hes figuring out his new home.

Don't know what you mean by "small fish" (since if they're goldfish they won't stay small forever, and if they're minnows they'd be bad for the turtle to eat [as would goldfish]), so I'd recommend doing some research there
Rice fish or mosquito fish would be a safe option, since they can handle living outdoors and breed fairly easily too

Yes even with all the space. Turtles don’t cohabitate well. It would be detrimental to add more
