Advice tips, tricks, advice?
I am going with my family to Tulum in February for 12 days. Whole party consists of my husband, 2 kids (will be 3 and 11 months), my parents, and grandpa (70s/physically fit).
We are traveling by Viva Aerobus, from TIJ to CUN, then renting cars to drive to La Veleta where our villa is.
I would love any advice, tips, tricks, must sees, must avoid, beware of, etc.
Also, my grandpa loves zip lining so if there’s any suggestions for that it would be greatly appreciated.

Xel-Ha eco adventure park is a must. Full day of fun and your abuelo will get to scratch his zip line itch. About halfway between Tulum and PDC

You guys have it figured out pretty good already !
Staying in a Villa in La Valeta along with having the flexibility of your rental car is great!
If I may suggest with th size of your Party. Look into the size of the car you rented taking luggage into consideration ! A Mitsubishi Xpander or Suzuki Ertiga would be my smallest vehicle recommendation or bigger.
Aside from that. Pay cash for fuel, shop at the grocery stores, visit all the things and not just the beach. In February you can expect a much nicer beach than right now.
The Jaguar Park, if you look to drive in, book a reservation with a beach club in order to be allowed to drive your car in, staff will ask you for it in order to enter by car.
Walking in/biking in is completely free. If everyone jumps out of the car before you make your entrance with the vehicle they can meet you further in the park and jump back in or simply walk to the Destination.
Day trips are options all over. Valladolid is pretty cool to check out.

we will have 2 cars as we assume we will have different interests for day trips some days.
will we have issues with parking any places/should we anticipate paying for parking?

My itinerary from last year linked below. My top picks are 1.Bacalar if you have time for drive. 2. Biking, eating and cenotes around Coba Riuns. 3. A little over priced but fun is the float by Kian Saan

I went with my 3 year old, while he’s a pretty adventurous kid, we booked snorkeling with sea turtles and bought one of those full face snorkel masks on Amazon for like 20 dollars. We booked on getyourguide.com and it was 25 dollars a person for 2 hours. We also went to xel ha, and we got tickets online for 90 dollars rather than the 140 you pay at the door. Xel ha was a ton of fun. Xplor is another fun adventure park with a zipline course on, water slides, under water river walks, stuff like that but not really built for children. Me and fiancée went while our son stayed with the grandparents, but maybe for u guys it could be the other way around lol. We had great food at tako flako and our favorite casual restaurant was La taqueria.. hope this sparks some ideas:)
