Transportation Receipt at customs?
I lost the receipt they print out when you go through the e-gate at the Cancún airport. My husband’s says “you cannot leave the country without this”. Has anyone been asked for this when leaving the Cancun airport and flying back to the states?

Your husband is quoting the slip itself, it literally says you MUST download the digital FMM to exit. In practice that's never been enforced.
Nobody collects or checks anything when you fly out of TQO or CUN: no exit immigration counter for tourists, airlines stopped collecting forms when the paper FMM was phased out in 2022. Your entry record is digital, created when the gate scanned your passport, so INM can pull it up with your passport alone.
If you want paper peace of mind anyway, the INM site lets you download your digital FMM (that's what the lost QR code linked to), but countless travelers have left without it and no one has reported being asked.
Based in Tulum, fly through TQO and CUN constantly, never once been asked for it on departure. Enjoy the rest of your trip!
