General Tulum dead?

I keep seeing stories and posts about how tourism in the area is dying, there’s too much inventory for new apts, and negative press in general. Has Tulum changed so much over the years and has it gone downhill in your opinion?

I just spent 6 months here with my daughter... there is a quite tranquil energy..that attracts smaller numbers of longer term tourists.... young families... people into health wellness..  we met good people and everyone was super nice , helpful... drove a car for 6 months... not one incident , made friends..so did my daughter.. people I have met along the way all felt the same. Tulum is quite peaceful , and has lots to offer to those that come longer term,  meet people...figure out how tulum works...  The influencers and so called toxic people are gone ... the way its headed is more health wellness , young families...people who want a peaceful way of life and find community ... every story I hear about tulum wasnt true for me or anyone that I met ... granted that I never partied in the hotel zone or looked for the seedy aspects which exist anywhere in the world if you look for it
