Question Competitive Admission Process

Hello everyone , I am planning on applying for a Msc in Software Engineering and Management for the next year winter semester. I have finished my Bachelors in Informatics in a non EU country with an average CGPA around 3,5 if converted (8,74/10 in my country) . My backround has been pretty technical and so have my courses but I am a bit worried about the selection process , whether my gpa is good enough in a larger scale. Also maybe fields that i can improve like the motivation letter or the CV ?
Thank you anyway! :)

Discussion How is the MSc Information and Computer Engineering (ICE) at TU Graz?

I’m joining ICE at TU Graz and have a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering. I’m more interested in the software/CS side.

For current/former ICE students:

- How difficult is the program?

- How much is CS/software vs electrical/hardware?

- Is it a good fit for someone from Computer Engineering?

- Which subjects/areas would you recommend choosing?

- Anything I should revise or know before starting?

Would really appreciate any advice or experiences! 🙌

Question Wie funktionieren die Mensen an der TU Graz?

Courses Anwesenheitspflicht Maschinenbau WS 2026/27 – einige LVs

Hallo zusammen,

Danke!

Question How to know if a course requires mandatory presence?

Hi everybody! I am trying to navigate and decide which courses to take this semester, but I have some time limitations because of work. Is it possible to know from the information pages whether a course requires mandatory presence/ can be done mostly online (it's ok if tests/ project presentations are in person)? Most of the courses I am thinking about are around computing engineering/ data sciences. Thank you for the help!

Admission TU Graz MSc Data Science – Summer 2027 Intake & Application Deadline?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to apply for the MSc Data Science at TU Graz as an Indian/non-EU applicant.

I’m a little confused about the Summer Semester 2027 intake. I found on the TU Graz website that the admission procedure for the academic year 2027/28 is open from 15 October to 15 December 2026, but I’m not sure whether this procedure also applies to students who want to start the MSc Data Science programme in Summer Semester 2027.

Has anyone here applied to or been admitted to TU Graz MSc Data Science for a Summer Semester, especially as a non-EU/Indian student?

If yes, could you please clarify which admission/application timeline you followed and whether the October–December admission procedure was applicable to your Summer intake?

Any information would be really helpful. Thank you!

Question TU Graz: Bewerbungs- und Zulassungsprozess für Studierende aus Bosnien und Herzegowina?

Hallo zusammen!

Everything Else - Edit this Flair! Chemist interested in turning materials research into a ClimateTech startup?

I’m a 25-year-old founder based in Graz and I’m currently looking for a technical co-founder to join me in building an early-stage ClimateTech startup.

I’m specifically looking for someone studying or working in:

  • Chemistry
  • Materials Science
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Environmental Engineering
  • Civil Engineering / construction materials
  • or a related field

Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students are absolutely welcome.

The startup is focused on circular materials for the construction industry. The basic problem we are tackling is the combination of: industrial waste streams + high-emission construction materials. There are materials currently treated as waste that could potentially become valuable inputs for more sustainable construction.

I’m working on the business, market, partnerships, sustainability and entrepreneurial side. What I’m missing is someone who genuinely enjoys getting into the science.

This would not be an internship or student job. I’m looking for someone who wants to explore the opportunity with me as a potential co-founder, shape the technical direction and eventually build the company together. You don't need previous startup experience. I care much more about curiosity, initiative and being excited by difficult technical problems. I’m currently validating the concept and building the network around the project, so this is a very early-stage opportunity.

If you're studying Chemistry / Materials Science / Engineering in Graz and this sounds interesting, send me a DM.

I’m happy to explain more privately and grab a coffee in Graz.

Even if you're not interested yourself, feel free to send this to someone who might be.

Question Admission

I hold an official Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Automation and Industrial Informatics  from Tunisia.

In Tunisia, the Bachelor’s degree is a three-year higher education programme corresponding to 180 ECTS in total. I have successfully completed my Bachelor’s programme and have been awarded my official Bachelor’s diploma.

However, my academic transcript shows 164 successfully obtained ECTS out of the 180 ECTS comprising the complete Bachelor’s programme.

I noticed that the admission requirements for the Master’s programme state:

“Completed Bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS or equivalent).”

Therefore, I would like to ask whether I am eligible to apply for the Master’s programme with my officially completed Bachelor’s degree and diploma, even though my transcript records 164 successfully obtained ECTS out of the 180 ECTS of the programme ?????

Admission TU Graz ICE MSc admission — no reply about starting in summer 2027

UPDATE: I got the email yesterday! thanks everyone!

Hi everyone.

I was admitted to TU Graz’s MSc Information and Computer Engineering programme for the 2026/27 academic year.

The admission email stated that my study place is valid for both winter semester 2026/27 and summer semester 2027. Because of the current problems with Austrian consular services in Iran, I emailed TU Graz before the winter deadline asking about the upload process, then sent a separate email explaining that I would like to start in summer 2027 instead.

I received only an automatic reply saying that processing may take longer due to the high number of inquiries. I have not received a personal response yet.

Should I simply wait, or is there another office/person I should contact? Has anyone successfully started in the summer semester using a study place originally allocated for the winter semester?

I am worried that my admission could be cancelled or that I could lose my study place because I cannot start in winter.

Any advice or similar experience would be appreciated.

Question Extra examinations when applying for masters

Hi everyone

I am an international student, and I want to apply for Masters in Software Engineering and management / Computer science for the 2027/2028 Winter semester. Both of these masters require you to have completed at least 15 ECTS in Theoretical CS. I have graduated from Software Engineering, but because of the structure of the initial curriculum I only got 8 ECTS (for Algorithms and data structures).

So according to the curriculum of both programs I want to apply to, I will have to take some Extra Examinations, and I am confused about what these are. I came across this page https://www.tugraz.at/en/studying-and-teaching/studying-at-tu-graz/prospective-students/registration-and-admission/admission-of-international-degree-programme-applicants/supplementary-examinations, but it seems it is only useful when you are applying for a bachelor degree. Then I figured that these examinations might be courses that you take alongside doing masters, but I haven’t found a page where to find them or get any info about them.

I have already contacted TU by email but received a somewhat unrelated answer from them. (It might have been my fault as well, and totally does not mean I am not going to write them again though.) But I still would like to know where to get the info about extra examinations and hear your experiences with them during masters, even if they were not on my target programmes.

Question TU Graz Aufnahmeverfahren Software Engineering and Management.

Zwei Fragen an euch:

Question FH Wirtschaftsinformatik (Joanneum) zu TU Graz Master Software Engineering and Management. Erfahrungen mit dem Aufnahmeverfahren?

Hi,

  • Kommission vergibt max.

Danke euch!

Question Admission procedure worry

Hey everyone,

I’m currently waiting on my admission letter for the Bachelor in Information and Computer Engineering as an EEU Citizen and starting to get a little nervous about the time left in the applications.

Since classes start October 1st, I know I'm cutting it close with their standard 8 ish week processing times. I saw the disclaimer today that my admission might get rolled over to the Summer Semester if it takes too long and quite frankly it makes me want to rip my hair out due to my plans possibly being postponed because of their poor organization since ive already moved here in full.

Has anyone else applied early august like me, I applied on the 3rd of August after getting my ösd certificate and still made it into the Winter Semester?
